Agreed, HK is one of those cities where it would be a shame to feel restricted to in-hotel dining.

The reason is with a last minute booking, FS wants to be 100% certain that the room inventory loaded onto the booking engine actually represents bookable rooms. It prevents having to "walk" a client.

You can still book by calling the hotel directly.

It's funny how picking up the phone is such a mental barrier to me these days; similar to when RC/AXP stopped putting up the ability to view FHR rates on the RC site. I loved the quick access of looking online via rc.com. Even with AXP's FHR engine up and running...it's still not the same somehow with the login/password and other barriers before seeing the rate.

http://www.fourseasons.com/jacksonho...?type=packages
who knows how many other packages are out there, because they only show a couple
RC lists all packages, with at least starting rate... (dont most list all packages?)

Hiding the packages seems really dumb. Often it seems like the goal is to encourage longer stays, but if you don't know you get a benefit by booking a longer stay unless you actually choose that many days it's never going to act as an incentive to lengthen your stay.

(And in general, this seems like a trend for the worse. We're pretty hard-core Four Seasons loyalists, but it seems like we're drifting away lately and this practice seems emblematic of the trend towards standard-chainization that is driving that movement.)

brilliant point, you have to HAPPEN to pick the right number of days, or the packages with set number dont show.
