all i will add is that i am referring to this >
http://www.fourseasons.com/palmbeach..._reservations/
rosewood and orient express are examples of companies that removed all rates overnight. i think there are a couple others but they are escaping me at the moment.
i sure hope FS is not planning to remove all rates. ah, maybe its an owner thing?

You will then see rates available for the requested dates. Click on the rate type that is underlined (e.g., Standard Rates). A pop-up will appear and then you can compare rates.
This doesn't entirely solve the problem though because the random date you enter only pulls up rates and packages that are available for that particular date. So you may need to try several dates to compare the rates for the packages you are looking for. And it only works for certain hotels (e.g., not Las Vegas).

Interesting as Hualalai has a different (old) style rates page:
http://www.fourseasons.com/hualalai/..._reservations/
Las Vegas is the same as Hualalai but the RC Chicago has the same page as Palm Beach...

las vegas was one of the first to remove rates. but i think they have added "types" of rates back.. odd..
and the "old" / original way was so much better. no pop up window that limits amount of rates at one time, and removes dates from "type" listing.

Consistency of booking experience across a brand is important

I agree Kage. Rate transparency is one of the parts of booking a Four Seasons vacation which my family greatly appreciates. It even makes a difference where we book, i.e. Four Seasons, or Ritz-Carlton, Rosewood, Peninsula.

There was a big fight between the owner of the FS on 53rd street in NYC and the parent company-- and the Internet booking engine was included in the legal complaint. Not sure what the outcome was but it did indicate thatnthis may be the reason whynthere is nom consistency between properties.

In the last few months, groups like Four Seasons have started to behave as though they were Las Vegas thousand-room monoliths; setting rates daily according to occupancy and season.
I am finding, increasingly, that FS hotels do not even bother to print rack rates anymore. This is also true of other high-end groups, like MO and Peninsula.
The only consistently transparent group appears to be Aman, who publish all their rates online and also in their brochures.
How on earth are you meant to work out a travel itinerary/budget and choose a level of accommodation if they give you no idea of the various rates across the year?

there are some other companies that are like aman. all small. although hard to remember offhand.
and of course FS currently has quite a bit of rates online. its just the trends i keep noticing that are worrisome.

anyway, so much for the "rate integrity" that FS always went on and on about...
my most recent comment before this thread >

FS site keeps going downhill. opacity is never a good trend.
