Bahamas are a stones throw from DC. Would LOVE to go to Maldives but need some serious time off from work. There are not many top notch Caribbean resorts to book on points. The Conrad should be a great close lux destination.

doing FS and mansour this summer?

i guess not all the interior work is done, but theyre still paying MO for preopening. maybe not paying as much though, as it seems 2 people recently left, forget if both or just one to FS.

Probably October, as FS does not really open until September. Yes, will also do Mansour etc etc etc

updated today http://www.mandarinoriental.com/paris/rooms_and_suites/

taking reservations from sept 1

rooms 37m2 > 52m2 (only €400 variance)
suites 57m2 > 340m2 (all 1.5+ bath)

says from €765 / €1750 (4th nt free on suites) but im seeing €100 higher (this year FS is from €750/€775...)
seeing rates for all but 3 suites, highest online is €8K

specifically mentions soundproofing as well as valet closets
mandarin rooms have balconies and mandarin terrace rooms have "large terraces" but neither have views

IMHO a handful of SL and MO accommodations seem like pretty good value.

does cent get 2nd nt free? confirmed upgrades dont look that great.

otherwise 4th nt free on suites. €1313 / €1388 isnt bad for 1.5 bath? and thats permanent.

SL only did a free night certificate thing at opening, although not just for suites.
