I finally got the rebooking page to load. Nothing available until 26th, and even on 26th, it's J only (thankfully I am in J...) but I would like to get back before 26th, since I'm leaving again on 27th!

Now onto searching for weird routings. Eurostar to Paris/Brussels and then flying is not an option since Eurostar is unavailable for booking until after Christmas. Ferry? Walking?

Just had my BA 784 cancelled.

Spent a while on the phone trying to get through to the gold helpline and eventually got through.

I'm now rebokked on the BA786 tomorrow, in economy!

I'm not very confident about getting off tomorrow though.

sky news: BA cancels all shorthaul on 20 Dec from 1200pm onwards for the day

This is unconfirmed at this time but sky news are saying BA has cancelled all short haul flights on the 20 December from 12pm onwards "probably to concentrate on the long haul departures" says colin brazier, sky news presenter

http://www.sky.com/news

or watch it live -

Unable to check and confirm with www.ba.com due to amount of people trying to get on it. Tried www.ba2go.com and also the BA exec iphone app.

Go to this BA link to confirm

DO NOT GO TO THE AIRPORT IF YOU ARE NOT ON A CONFIRMED FLIGHT OR IF YOUR FLIGHT HAS BEEN CANCELLED. THERE IS NO POINT

I know how you feel.

It hasn't been a good year for flying.

I got cought up in last winters snow disruption, as well as 2 weeks ago, then got to spend 3 hours on the tarmac after landing at LHR on Friday evening.

Not to mention Vulcanic ash, an unusually large amount of flights being delayed for technical issues.

In fact, I don't think I've had an ontime departure since early October, or it may even be further back than that.

My flight today has been cancelled and I've been rebooked in an economy seat tomorrow, but I'm not confident in getting away tomorrow either.

It is wearing me down.

Rats, I am kicking myself (second time this month actually) for choosing to fly BA. My flight is due tomorrow and provided all their flights on my route have been cancelled today prospects of me boarding that plane tomorrow are pretty grim. What adds to my frustration is that all three other airlines flying to my destination do operate their flights today. I have just checked and every flight (but those 3 operated by BA) is fully booked tomorrow.
Will I ever learn from my own mistakes?

I think the best advise to all those trying to get to their destinations tomorrow is to go sites like kayak.com and try to book a fully flexible ticket with an alternative carrier. And do this fast, seats go as I type as people flee BA.

In my view, there is one thing the government could do.

They could allow Heathrow to operate 24/7 until the end of the year.

This would allow the airlines to get their flights off, even though not necessarily on time, helping to clear the backlog.

Latest News on britishairways.com

Just seen this update offering cancellations or rebooking for anyone who wants to change arrangements between now and the 24th. I'm flying (allegedly) LHR to NRT 25th so waiting to see what happens as if this is extended to cover flights on 25th am considering canceling BA and flying KLM from BRS (not on a flexible flight so that not an option atm..)

Last updated: 12:25 - 20 December 2010

Severe weather continues to cause significant disruption to our operations.

Please do not travel to the airport unless your flight is operating.

> Check the status of your flight

You can also check your flight status on your mobile phone by visiting ba2go.com.

If you are due to travel from Heathrow between now and 24 December, please consider whether your travel is essential. If you do not need to travel you can cancel your flight, and get a full refund, or change your flight to another date in the next 355 days.

We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience. Our staff are doing everything they can to help you.

LONDON GATWICK and LONDON CITY
We expect to operate the vast majority of our flights into and out of London Gatwick and London City, although some flights may be subject to delays.

Customers travelling to or from London Heathrow up to 24th December and who do not wish to travel may:
