If you change status levels (going from Premier to Premier Exec, etc), it takes about 2-3 days for it to become effective in the system. At that point you MUST call back United and have them "re-enter" your MP number into any future PNR's (Records/Travel itins) that you have for the system to reflect your new status level.

Update: You no longer have to do this. Your status will be reflected in your PNR within 2-7 days (seems like there is a weekly sweep, didnt figure out which day). Your BPs will then print with your status irregardless of when the reservation was made. HOWEVER, if you requested a 500 miler upgrade BEFORE your status changes, you must have it backed out and reentered in order to be allowed to clear at your new window (can't do online AFAIK). If you are lucky the CSR may clear you right there on the phone to be nice
Question about this ...

I have an upcoming trip, in which I will be passing a threshold to the next elite level (at the completion of the outbound part of the trip). There will be 3 days before the inbound part of the trip.

Will I be entitled for the new elite level perks during my inbound? Any suggestions/advice from you experts? Thanks!

Yes, should not be a problem, your flight should post within 48 hours at which point you can call into UA, and have your seat changed to E+ or do it when you check in online.

If the upgrade does not clear at the window (which is very possible, it's not that you get upgraded if there's a seat available, but rather it's still coming from the same inventory), you can still clear anytime until departure.
Do CR-1 upgrades on the waitlist clear before they start clearing the GS 500-milers at the 120 hour point?

Yes. 120 hours is not when e-500s clear, but when they could possibly start clearing. If there is a waitlist, e-500 requests go on the waitlist; they do not clear immediately. Therefore, e-500s requests that waitlist will go after any CR-1s already on the waitlist, and the CR-1s will clear first (if at all, of course).

Economy Plus seat assignment question

I was recently matched to 2P by United. For my upcoming reservation, I noticed all the Economy Plus sections are full. I also looked at the seat map in UAL website, I could not see any flight leaving on that day has open economy plus seats. Does this mean all the economy plus seats are booked solid for my flight or UA blocked these seats? If UA blocks Economy Plus section, how do I request Economy Plus seat assignment?
Thank you.

I was a 3P, then 2P and a 1P for nearly 2.5 years before .bomb decided to let me choose E+ seating.

Then, one magical day, after about a dozen trouble tickets with UAL, it finally started working.

The way to test, choose a flight like 6-8 months from now, on a popular route (say ORD to SFO, etc) and see if there is E+ (or give me the flight you are booking, and I can check for you)

You didn't give the United flight numbers, but from all the SYD-LAX and LAX-ORD flights that day, nonstop, E+ is virtually empty.

MKE is your home airport? I'm in Kenosha! LOL

Thanks for checking. I fly out of MKE for work. I am brand new to UA, only flew UA once ten years ago and flew exclusively Skyteam.

Hi -- just noticed that the Contract of Carriage link is broken. Here's the new one:

Question

My crazy question of the day:

Is there any way to have miles transferred from one FF program to another? I am 1p with United, but I have 80k miles with NWA. I would like to move those miles to United. I don't even care if the miles are EQM as long as they are usable.

Any thoughts? I tried scanning other threads, but could not find an answer.

Thanks!

Not without massive devaluation. And for your situation, according to http://www.webflyer.com/programs/mileage_converter/, there is no way to transfer anything out of NW.
