I used to be gold then Plat then gold then silver NWA, now I rarely fly them except to cash in miles which is getting rarer since the new fees are almost equal to the flight costs in some cases.

This is just plain wrong. how long have domestic award tickets cost 25k miles on NWA? I don't know but it's been quite a while... during that time, ticket prices have gone up without a doubt....
