flight waitlist

I am flying from lhr-cph on sun, 26 aug. We hace a ua gold with us, and I know that a guarenteed benefit is priority waitlist and standby. We want to go on an earlier flight than we are on. However, sas in the us said to buy new tickets, and in cph they said that that's not a benefit, and that it was impossible. First, is it possible? Second, will the people in london feel in my favor? It would be great to get there earlier.

First of all, european airlines don't practice the standby principle common to american carriers.

The *G priority waitlist concept is when you book/rebook your ticket and the booking class is full, you get on a waitlist. If additional seats become free in that booking class, you would jump the queue.

If you have a dirt cheap ticket which is booked in a fare that doesn't allow changes, you have to buy a new ticket.

The only time I have seen SAS allow you on an earlier flight is when the original flight was hopelessly over booked. None of the flights on Aug 26 look like that:

seatcounter.com is the free site where you can get such data. expertflyer.com is the pay-per-view site that I normally use. Another nifty tool is published and sold by FT member KVS where he incorporated all publicly available websites that divulge the data for free into a software tool that displays the data in the same format.

is there something wrong with seatcounter??? because when I enter the information, and press go, the screen that pops up to answer my query only shows "airline", "Flight", "seat"..., and a line underneath it, and that's it...
