Lotīs of langhaul delays in CPH...?!
Hi! Just checking on CPH website. Seems that a lot of flights are delayed from CPH today/tonight. Anyone know why?
SK 925 12:20 (13:50)
SK 943 15:35 (22:30)
SK 983 15:40 (18:10)
SK 937 15:45 (18:30)
SK 997 18:55 (23:00)
Sk 995 21:05 (22:05)
SK 973 22:45 (08:30)
Hmmmm, not too good for the on-time statisticts!

I'm in the lounge now at CPH awaiting the departure of SK943, now delayed until 21:05, why, who knows. I do know that it's probably ORD's fault. Too bad we can't divert to MDW, where there are currently no delays, par for the course. If there's a blade of grass that has blown onto the runway at ORD, they'll issue ground holds worldwide for at least 3 hours.
Too bad, but when I checked in, no C-class. I got it on my flight last sunday from SEA-CPH, I assume it was an op up (not sure what my purchased fare class was, as my company's travel agency doesn't list it). I was booked in Y-Extra, originally, and after a change in itinerary this week to the tune of an extra $2400 on top of a $2600 airfare, I though it might happen tonight, but no luck (so far).

I think this started a few days ago with SK943 (CPH-ORD) being cancelled due to technical problems with a 343. It was delayed also the next day by 7 hours and that haunts the schedule right now.
I am not sure, but I guess they also were forced to hold a few asian flights due to misconnecting passengers from London (late due to the fog) causing more problems to a schedule as we all know don't allow too many delays.
Hopefully everythings gets sorted out so ya'll get to be where you should be for Xmas.

I was on 938 (SEA->CPH) on DEC 20. We were ~3 hours late from SEA due to late incoming aircraft from CPH (mechanical). Then when we got to CPH we had to wait for our luggage 2+ hours since one of the cargo doors wouldn't open (I guess they had to call a locksmith ). I was wondering when SK937 would leave...
On a related note: SK called me at home 4-5 hours before departure to tell me about the delay - great customer service ^ ^ I arrived an hour before the new departure, waited 15 mins. in the lounge and then boarded.
I also didn't realize that SK 937/938 doesn't operate 12/24 and 12/25?

I'm sorry you got delayed. This thread clearly proves that SAS is very vulnerable to long delays because of their very small long haul fleet, only 11 a/c... If one plane has a larger technical issue, delays very easily spreads to the entire network ...
The dates you mention 937/938 is not in the schedule, the same goes for New Years eve and the Dec 30th. But from Jan 1st, it operates daily.
I'm sure that SAS will get flights back on track during the Holidays because of the operating schedule

in the spirit of xmas...
anyone argue their way into some compensation for these delays? I was on the SK944 12/21, which ended up about 6 hours late into CPH, and my luggage didn't show up until 24 hours later.
Also, I used their mobile wap site to check on the flight, and it said SK944 12/21 was canceled all day long, which luckily was not the case. SAS didn't exactly come across as a well-coordinated airline this holiday season..
