Looking for award travel to/from VCE and I see there is a flight VCE-FRA- Copenhagen to SFO, on SAS. Any experience with what their business class might be like? I think they are updating their planes on the international routes, but not expected to finish till 2016.
Thanks. (I did look on the SAS page)

The current business class is 2-2-2 slanted lie flat seats. The first aircraft with the new interior should come early 2015. Deliveries of new aircraft should start late 2015. SK latest comments on the topic said that the conversion should be completed in 2015. That does seem a bit ambitious, of course there are only 11 planes to reconfigure (plus the ex LAN bird) but I guess they would need to lease capacity to do it that quickly. The food and wines on SK are generally quite nice, the crew can be hit or miss. Though with a very Scandinavian flair to it, which is a more casual relaxed style of service, less formal than on other carriers.
If you are flying via Frankfurt, the leg from VCE to FRA is going to be on LH.
If you are flying intra Europe on SK please note that there is no business class any longer, the Plus product is a premium economy product and there is no blocked middle seat. UA will from a point perspective still charge for business class though. That is how the burn structure for Plus has been set.
I fly the SFO-CPH route a few times a year in business. It's decent but angled flat and not fully flat seats. Cabin is usually kept warm. Bathrooms are huge but dated. Service friendly and food and drinks are good. They make cocktails too! I usually do sas plus then use option town to upgrade. Works well most of the time unless there is a sale on tickets. I would not pay full price for business on SAS as you can get better products on other airlines but good value if you get it in optiontown or on sale.
