Christmas calendar 2013 edition

Now that Halloween is over, businesses are getting ready for Christmas. SAS has started the sign up for the EB-xmas calendar.

Denmark - 24 tilbud FREM TIL JUL

Sweden - 24 erbjudanden FRAM TIL JUL

Norway - 24 tilbud FREM TIL JUL

I can't find anything in English or from Finland yet.

I hope they have some point bargains like when I used 12000 points to fly to SEA

12.000 to SEA? Not bad What year was that?

My best Christmas calendar deal so far is 10.000 to ORD back in 2009...

Have there been Finnish one in previous years or should I just sign up for the Swedish one?

Offer for Dec. 1st

Vi giver dig tredobbelte Ekstrapoint, når du rejser til Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca eller Nice i perioden 20. april – 8. juni 2014.
You get triple Extra points, when you travel to Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca or Nice during April 20th until June 8th.

This is poorly formulated on the Danish site, but on the Swedish site it says that you get double extra points + normal basic points.

Trippla poäng(dubbla Extrapoäng + ordinarie Baspoäng för resan)
Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca r/t => 4000 Basic + 8000 Extra
Nice r/t => 3000 Basic + 6000 Extra

Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca => 2000 Basic + 4000 Extra
Nice => 1500 Basic + 3000 Extra
So what the offer gives you is an additional 2000 Extra and nothing else? (since a nromal GO would be 2000 + 2000). Strange to call that triple points.

You can look at this offer from different ways:

SAS sells extra points, so a r/t to Nice nets 6000 extra points valued at € 230, Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca receive 8000 extra points valued at € 300.

6000 points is 2/5 of the points that are needed for a long haul upgrade to Plus, 8000 is over half the points needed (15000).

Here is a good deal: CPH-BCN JUN6 - JUN8 € 171 (1275 DKR). A EBG gets 5000 basic points, and 10000 extra.

I'd probably choose a Plus ticket at € 240 in stead, for the 10000 basic points.

Remember that the deal is only valid for SAS Go.

Quote from the relevant SAS page :
'København, Oslo eller Stockholm til Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca eller Nice. Pointene sættes ind på din konto efter afsluttet rejse, som skal være foretaget senest 8. juni 2014.Gælder kun SAS Go.'

Advent Calendars

At first sight, I thought this was about Advent Calendars ;-). Then it turned out to be all about money/miles. The modern Christmas spirit...

I am thinking of doing this one for two nights in Barcelona:

København (CPH) - Barcelona (BCN) fr 6 jun 2014 (SAS Go)
Voksen 569 DKK
Barcelona (BCN) - København (CPH) sø 8 jun 2014 (SAS Go)
Voksen 676 DKK
Salgstillæg 30 DKK
Totalpris: 1.275 DKK
Hvoraf skatter, afgifter og tillæg: 652 DKK

That is quite cheap and give the triple extra points as advertised on the DK x-mas site. So good value for money.

A Christmas calendar is in my world something you have in the morning. For kids at least.

But I get the email notification late afternoon. Crazy, especially as you generally have to act the same day. Today I got the Hertz offer after 5 pm – at that time 17 hours of the day has elapsed. I get tired....
