Mr. Nacho has a EB DC and he said that the lounge at CPH is really poor. Definitely not worth DKK 95, he said he wouldn't spend DKK 5 to get in (since you'll get the refreshment on board anyway).

So he will call DC Monday and cancel the card.

I suppose Mr. Nacho is a non-smoker?

Correct There aren't that many places for smoker to smoke at CPH. In Germany there are tons of smoking lounges in various airports.

No. It says that there has been a big increase (200 %) in "The Airport Lounge Program" - numbers of lounges worldwide. Not members.

Still curios to see wheter this restriction only goes for card holdes living in Denmark.

You are right. The announcement can now be found on the Danish Diners site here.
This is very alarming regarding other Nordic countries.

Still no news if it only applies to the Danish diners club or all of Scandinavia?

Nothing letter for me or my wife, who are in Sweden. The girls at the CPH lounge yesterday had not heard anything either, although they might not be the first to find out.

Got the letter today and no Mention of the free access based on spending. I spend between 100000-150000 dkk on the card yearly.

Last night I received an email from EB, promoting the co-branded DC card. One of the selling points is the access to over 400 airport lounges all over the world.

No thanks, since I already have AY co-branded DC, which gives me two points for every euro spent instead of one.

Going OT, but have you ever compared what the points really give you? I don't think the difference is that clearly in AY's favour. If you have status and get 3 points per euro, then you have a point.

Now for Norwegian-based Diners owners as well from 1/1/2012 won't be free anymore - 125 nok/visit and no free lounge visits as in DK...

Wonder for how long we in Sweden will keep it free of charge...

That is ridiculous! Norway doesn't even have any Diners lounge so the Norwegian lounge visits are probably much less frequent than in Denmark.

I see no value with such a card and would then def not pay any yearly fee for it anyways.

So, now we know: The (free) lounge access is gone for cardholders in all of Scandinavia. My guess: It is a generally, world wide deterioration.
