Looks like Quikpark raised to $10 + tax = $11 per day.

Yup-sure did :( and it must have just happened as a friend booked at $8.80 two days ago (and a good thing I booked 3 in advance last week ;))

My favorite parking is Millbrae BART.

You go here:

https://www.parkingcarma.com/Portals/BART/

and select Airport/Long Term Parking. You buy a permit, it costs $6 per weekday. Weekends are free, but it will charge you for the weekend if you buy a permit that includes the weekend - so, if your stay straddles a weekend, buy a separate permit for each string of weekdays.

A cab each way to SFO is about $10, and in my experience there are always cabs waiting at Millbrae (unlike San Bruno, which is a cab desert.) The great thing is when you come home late after a long flight, you just hop into a cab instead of waiting for a shuttle bus. The cab drivers don't mind the short haul because if they are back at the airport within a half hour they go to the head of the line.

One caveat - on weekdays mid-day the lot can be crowded and you should allocate some time to look for a space.

Both QuikParkSFO and Burlingame Airport Parking have dropped to $9.00/$9.90 per day all in with taxes

QuikPark SFO only picks up/drops off at the Westin as the Clarion is Closed

I picked up "one of us" ;) at SFO on Thursday and when making the turn past the Clarion, I saw big signs all over the place saying "Everything Must Go".

I couldn't stop but I was flying out on Friday night and I can report the following....

QuickPark is open for business as usual but you must now walk over to the front of the Westin to grab the shuttle as that is now used for both pick-ups and drop-offs.

The Clarion hotel is "closed for renovations" but according to the QuikPark parking attendant, they are no affiliated with the Clarion and the only thing that is changing is the pickup-up/drop off location for the shuttle

Just tried this again and there were taxis at the station, no problem. Only it cost $13 (incl tip) via the most direct route. Still not so bad.

BART runs directly between SFO and Millbrae after 7pm weeknights and all day Sat/Sun; at those times, no funny transfer required. BART is $4 per person.

Just drove by, it looks a lot more like bankruptcy than renovations!

Looks like it will be an Aloft hotel when they're done, with an Element Hotel added somewhere down the line.

Based on the article you linked, I hope QuikPark stays as with 3 properties proposed*, that's gonna be a big footprint and I can see parking becoming a premium.

*I know it will take time to complete the project but being the nervous nellie that I am.....;)

They do seem to have the most frequent shuttles. I've had four different stays there over the last two weeks and on two of them the shuttles were pulling up as I exited the terminal. Perfect timing.

I really like parkSFO for convenience. Easy in, easy out. It's where we park for shorter stays.

+1 I always use ParkSFO for 3-7 day parking. Join their email list and you'll get coupons for 1-2 days of free parking like clockwork, which reduces the outdoor cost to @ $8-10/day

So I'm flying tonight and coming back Sunday night. I don't care so much for cost as convenience (as long as it's not absurd). What's the most convenient place to park for 48 hours?

For 48 hours I'd park at the airport lot which runs @ $33 per day. Why waste an hour on the shuttles? If money is tight then use ParkSFO.

If you park in the international terminal lots, it's $20 a day and it's only a few minutes longer walk to either terminal 1 (park in A) or 3 (park in G).

I've given up on ParkSFO, because the last three times I have tried to park there, the outdoor lot has been completely full. The last time I tried to park there (on 16 Sep), they were apparently doing valet parking only.

I pay my own way and feel that even $20 a day is way too much for airport parking, so for now I am sticking with Burlingame Airport Parking. Even for short weekend trips, covered parking for $8-10/day is well worth the half-hour it takes to get to/from my car.

mnredfox Oct 9, 2011 2:14 am

I always use PNF. If you fly DL, they often have coupons for cheaper rates with PNF. Around $12/day I think.

channa Oct 9, 2011 6:12 am

I did not get my 2 day free coupons from Park SFO this month. I suspect this may be over since the Fastrack Parking is closed, and demand is up. :(

goalie Oct 9, 2011 8:26 am

Both QuikPark SFO and Burlingame Airport Parking (both noted up-thread) are still at $9.90 a/i per day ($9.00 +10% tax) but n.b. if using QuikPark SFO-you still park in the lot at the old Clarion but you now have to walk over to the Westin (100 yds) for shuttle pick up (and it drops you off there as well) due to the construction/destruction at the Clarion.
