nuts

I'm sad to hear that Tart-to-Tart has gone down hill. They used to have some of the best desserts. . . a perfect end to a meal at Naan & Curry. One of my favorites memories from living in the City was when my wife and I went there to eat dessert during the tsunami warning a few years ago. As we lived two blocks from the ocean at the time, 9th and Irving constituted "high ground" for us.

Stinking Rose

I'm surprised to hear good reviews for the Stinking Rose. I assumed it was just a tourist trap.

In case you didn't get the hints above, BillScann, you're not supposed to call it Frisco. I don't know why we're supposed to have such a negative reaction to that nickname for The City (or ess-eff, or San Fran), but that's the typical reaction you'll get around here.

As for your question, maybe you could suggest your favorite cuisines (we know what you don't like), and a price range.

If that was your high ground, you have had no trouble washing down your dessert! ;)

Now "frisky" we can accept, as it is part of a famous poem, written immediately after the 1906 Earthquake and Fire:

I have had only the best there. Sorry for your experience, but I will continue to patronize them!
