Connection at SFO
Hi,
I am looking at booking a connecting flight through SFO and would like some advice re the feasability of my options.
The story is that I am booked on the 13:30 SFO-JFK AA flight on 19/2/08 (tuesday). For various reasons this unfortunately cant be changed (and missing it may be expensive - its a reward seat and I would need to then probably pay up for a one way SFO-JFK) and would also probably miss my one day in NY (where I have never been before)). I would like to fly down to LAS the day before and spend the night in LAS and then come back to SFO to make this connection.
The feasable options to do this are:
WN arriving SFO at 0755 1035* or 1125 (the * is connecting at LAX) - all $57
or
Ted arriving SFO at 0740 0849 1000 - all $105
I will have checked luggage coming off the LAS flight and going onto the JFK flight.
Obviously I'd prefer to squeeze an extra hour or two's worth of sleep in (especially because the following day will be my only day in New York before going onto the UK (trying to pack as much into my annual leave allowance as I can)) but dont want to run too much of a risk of missing the JFK flight.
So my question is - what flight is the best bet? Im leaning towards the 1000 arrival on Ted but unsure if I should play it on the safe side and take the 0849 Ted flight. Any thoughts???
Kind Regards,
Bradley

I'm not exactly a risk taker, but I think I'd be less cautious and take the latest WN flight. That still leaves 2 hours to collect bags and recheck in.
You're 10AM Ted flight should be fine.

I'm going to agree with gre and say that all of the options should work, but you might want to look at the weather reports for the SFO area as your trip approaches, because SFO is notorious for its fog. That being said, February usually isn't too bad because of the absence of warmer air.

couple of points -
more questions, actually -
1) Haven't taken a WN flight in many years - do they interline now? Or will you have to collect your bags and re check for the AA Flight? That makes a difference..
2) I have seen fog at SFO every time of year, every time slot etc and so if you MUST take the AA flight, why push it?
3) Do NOT take the WN flight connecting thru LAX. That is all.
Good luck whatever you decide!
