Just came across this thread. Sorry to have missed you (pl). I'd flown in Sunday morn and out Monday morn. Quite a crowd. Much larger than my last encounter. The city sign may have said "Albany", but it was pretty "Berkeley", minus those people three standard deviations from the norm.

Solano Ave lower end is in Albany. About where the Safeway is, the OTHER side of the street becomes Berkeley and that side of the street remains Albany for several blocks up. Finally, it all becomes Berkeley.
