A new campaign by the National Restaurant Association started an advertising campaign today enouraging San Francisco residents and tourists to dine out. Full page newspaper ads enourage people to help the economy by eating out more often, which has a trickle down effect benefiting restaurant owners, employees and suppliers.
Post 9/11 restaurant sales were down 50-75%, however, they have inched up and are now at about 15% of normal levels. The article mentions that restaurant patrons contribute about 1 trillion dollars per year in sales.
