News views gossip - San Francisco grocery stores

gus’ market (Harrison/17th) has no queue and loads of stuff including house-packed ounces of yeast for $3.99/oz (F) and $2.49/Oz (Red) and much flour including non-wheat choices. Felt like 80% shoppers are Insta / contract shoppers. Zero internal lines for deli and meat/seafood.
Rainbow (13th/Folsom) has a typical long long long queue to enter, maybe 25-people deep; plus a different queue with 6-7 people and I’ve no idea why this other queue exists... I noticed both queues because I was driving both under the freeway and then on Folsom.

went to laurel village to fetch Susie cakes. Calmart there had an entry queue at 2p
trader joes in Masonic had a very tiny queue at 2:30p
whole foods noe valley had a short (5 ppl???) queue at 2:45p
safeway Diamond Heights has no entry queue at 4:30p on Friday. Wow.
ditto for Safeway mission.

A crazy long line.
Tokyo Fish Market (albeit a small store) has had Saturday lines down and around the next corner.

I feel lucky to be able to go to shops when there’s zero entry queue. I waited a couple of times in March but now I’m only going shopping at places without a queue (but of course these are shops that enforce a queue when needed).

So, I've not waited in a single line since the start of the shelter in place order. Here's where I've been shopping:
1. The Market in the Twitter building;
2. Golden Veggie on Polk at California;
3. Chinatown (though fewer shops are opening now, which is worrying);
4. A variety of small groceries in the Lower Nob/Nob area, including the Viet place on Larkin between O'Farrell and Ellis, California Grocery on Polk between O'Farrell and Geary, LeBeau Market on Leavenworth between Sacramento and Clay;
5. The Ferry Building; and
6. Heart of the City Farmer's Market at Civic Center on Wednesdays and Sundays.
Hope this can be of some use! Should have posted a month or more ago.

I love the Twitter building for the market and the food places.
I went to Gus’ Market (Mission) at 17th & Harrison at 8a Sunday today. Zero line and easy parking. Few shoppers there were shopping for others.

Bi-Rite divisadero had a queue for entry - 8-ish people
whole foods 24th had a queue but only within the parking lot.

I've shopped exclusively online for the past two months. 
Mainly from Amazon Fresh (and regular Amazon, Subscribe & Save, Amazon Pantry, Whole Foods). Also have used Instacart to shop Safeway and Costco.
When one source is low on some fresh item such as eggs or milk (or they don't have the type I prefer), it's good to have options and be able to get what I want from another source fairly quickly. I've also stockpiled some of the more shelf-stable items, such as baking mixes and dried pasta. I've also managed (eventually) to get the "scarce" items such as toilet paper, paper towels, and hand sanitizer.
