Layover at SFO
Looks like we're looking at a layover at SFO; arrival lands at 11:10am and departure is 7:00pm. Is that enough time for us to leave the airport and hit a site or two? If yes, any recommendations on an SFO "must see" [fisherman's warf, golden gate, etc]??

You can take the BART to/from SFO.
I'd recommend getting off at Embarcadero - you can walk to fisherman's wharf and the In N Out. Or you could go to 16th & Mission, get a burrito and a beer, take the beer to Dolores Park and drink it with the hipters. I wouldn't try to do both.

TravelBuzz is for general travel topics that are not specific to a particular airline, hotel chain, car rental company, destination, etc.
As this query is specific to San Francisco, we'll move this over to the appropriate forum for further discussion. Thanks.

You'll have a solid 5 hours of visit San Francisco. Start here with things to do:

Depending on your interests, when your layover is, etc., I'll be happy to provide more guidance.

If you are in town for that period of time, you may want to go down to Union Square for a nice lunch and then a quick shop.

Unless you have specific interests (Mexican food, craft beer, vinyl records, hiking, museum...), I'd agree, this is a good all-purpose destination, and an easy BART ride.

If you are here any week but this one, you can ignore this.
It is Super Bowl week and there are a lot of extra people in town. BART is running with pretty much record levels of ridership but still your best bet. It maybe crazy fun or, just crazy. The foot of Market Street has been taken over by the NFL Experience. It has made transit and traffic a bit of a challenge.
The cautionary message would be to make sure that you leave yourself plenty of time to get back to the airport.
Enjoy!

There is a whole sticky thread at the top of this (San Francisco) forum devoted to layover suggestions.

The Mission would be a much better choice for a BART convenient location. It's also closer to the airport.
