OAK security - Does terminal matter?

Tomorrow will be my third time travelling out of OAK and both times the security screening lines have been extremely long. Sadly, I'm on WN, so I'm not TSAPrecheck eligible for this flight but was wondering if anyone had insight as to whether it's okay to go through the Terminal 1 security checkpoint and then get back over to Terminal 2 airside. Is this a common thing at OAK or will TSA send me back to Terminal 2 to clear security?

FWIW, I did this today whereby I checked in at T2 for a WN flight and walked over to T1 and went through the non-existent security line and no TSA agent raised a fuss.

Hope someone finds this information useful in the future.

In my experience security at OAK is only bad when flying through T2, but only first thing in the morning or early evening at prime times. At off time security is quick.

At T1 lines are non existant.

Yes, this is quite normal. Often you will find no line at all at T1. And then at other times, you'll notice they have a fast-ish WTMD-only lane open at T2. Really doesn't matter which you pick.

(Once I was stopped at the TDC but only to let me know how far my walk would be.)

No problemo. Walkway airside. IIRC, WN even had a few flights going out of T1 - not sure if that's still the case. TSA does not care at any airport. I have used BP's for term A departures at IAH to get into term C for the president's club. Done similar things at STL, SFO, etc - all cases where the terminals weren't even connected airside. The most they will do is warn you you're going through through the wrong checkpoint for your flight - but they won't prevent you from going through.
