MyPoints: DO Points Expire?

Accumulated a lot of mypoints over the years but have not had the time to accumulate recently. Do these points ever expire or lapse?

The best place for such questions is the MyPoints website, which has a FAQ entry on exactly this topic.

Do MyPoints Points expire?

Further, even if you're inactive for 12 months and they
"expire your points", you can email CS and they might reinstate them for you. I've done this once before.

If you follow cepheid's excellent advice and simply read the FAQ on the website, you will see this:

Do MyPoints Points expire?

Your Points will expire only if you are inactive for a period of 12 consecutive months. Please see the MyPoints Terms of Service for our definition of inactivity.

How can I ensure that the Points I have won't expire?

Your Points will not expire as long as you do one of the following within a period of 12 consecutive months: website visit, email response (clickthru), survey completion, profile update or any Point-earning or spending transaction.
I don't see that it requires so much time simply to visit the mypoints website!

Also, sometimes if you visit the website, you will find offers there where simply answering a question, then clicking (once or twice) will earn you 5 points.

In the time it took you to start this thread, you could have reset the expiration clock on your mypoints already!

I wouldn't hang on to those points too much longer. It is easy to prevent expiration, but points don't earn interest, and redemption levels only tend to go one way over time (Hint: it isn't down.).

Agreed! I redeem points whenever I accumulate enough for an Amazon (or occasionally other retailer) gift card.

You can just click on one of their email offers every few months and that will keep your account active. They make it pretty easy.

It's almost certain that the OP is NOT subscribed to any of their e-mail offers! (In fact, some people do opt out because they don't want their inbox cluttered....)

If the OP were on their e-mail list, he/she would not have posted this question in the first place. @:-)
