Ticked with Caribou Coffee

Caribou Coffee advertises in the drive-thru to register your gift card and get $4 added on! What they fail to tell you is if at any time prior you have ever registered a card online at their web site, you do not qualify. How can they do this and not post this with the information with their promotional material in the drive-thru. I feel like it's false advertising. I went back and forth with customer service via email on trying to understand this - and with the last email she even called me by the wrong name. I'm not impressed at all.

Too bad you don't have OMNI access. Sounds like an interesting thread for OMNI.

Are you sure you didn't just miss it because you were in a hurry? The in-store promotional materials at my local store definitely mentioned that qualification.

Nope! I double checked the drive-thru this morning before even posting this. It's absolutely misleading. I think they should take the sign down - it's so aggravating.

Cincinnati, Ohio!

Was there an asterisk or anything on the sign to indicate restrictions apply?

If not, then you can bring this up with management.
However, I wouldn't get to work up over it.
It's $4.

I saw no asterisk on this drive-thru sign. While I understand your point, it minimizes the principle that their marketing is deceptive. I am "principle-oriented" more than "dollar-oriented". The email communication with the customer service rep that went back and forth was far from clearing the air on what was exactly meant by this promotion and time consuming.

I felt like communicating fully with customer service at the Web site I have vented with Caribou, but I wanted to inform other consumers through this excellent site. End of story.
