Here's an offer for the 2008 book with free shipping.
This is a heads up to anyone who might be considering doing this offer - DONT DO IT RIGHT NOW.
That is, unless you NEED your book right now.
Around late November (a month or so after the book becomes valid), Mypoints has a christmas-type sale where books are around half the prices displayed on this current offer if you purchase multiple copies (get coworkers and friends together on the purchase) and of course, shipping is pretty much always free with the Entertainment books. Your best bet is to be patient, as long as you can convince your friends to get in on the sale.
Last winter, it was buy one book at reg price, get each additional book for $15. I ordered 4 books for $80 total, all-in, with free shipping.
Case in point: Don't jump the gun to get this book, unless you're really concerned about using the coupons from day 1. My advice - wait, and use the free coupons on saversguide (use multiple email accounts) until your book arrives on a better offer.

Right now there's an offer for $1 shipping plus a $25 Resturant.com certificate.

Although it's probably moot now, the Entertainment coupons are good from when the book is issued, not Nov. 1. I've already used a few from the 2008 book. As mentioned above, as time goes on the offers get better so you may still want to hold out.

I used to buy these books years ago when I was traveling more for the great discount on the hotels, especially in Fla, Ca, and Hawaii, but now that that one company bought out the rights to sell all the hotel offers in the book, I find the book to be worthless. The coupons for the car rentals can usually be found @ Sam's club or AAA. Then they had a 2 free days coupon for parking near the airport in Atl, and they took that away. What coupons are those of you who still buy these books, are you finding useful?

dinning coupons, if you use two or three of them they cover the cost of the book.

Go on the web and look at the book before you buy. Our local book (suburban Maryland) has very few decent restaurants and those that are good are now mostly 20% rather than 50%. We won't be buying this year's book.

The cert works out to a savings $60. Last year, I bought a second book at the discounted price to get additional discounts. I think I netted in the $60 range on that alone.

I know that sometimes online you can see the re-use deals, but often can't see the BOGO deals you get for using a coupon the first time.

Sure there are BOGO offers but they are not at what we consider desirable restaurants in our area and there are far fewer altogether. Lots of 20% off for first visits, which we had not seen in the past. We might not get our $30 back so we won't buy the book.

The Phoenix book seemed to go through a few lean years, but most recent ones have been pretty good. I've used attraction coupons too. For 2007:
Scottsdale Center for the Arts concert ticket: $48
OK Corral Stables horseback ride: $30
Desert Botanical Gardens: $10
Boyce Thompson Arboretum: $7.50
I've also used at least $100 worth of restaurant coupons.

I don't go to Hawaii without an Entertainment book in hand -- and then get the rental car coupon book as well.
The grocery coupons pay for the book by themselves in Texas and other locales. The AA 5% and rental car coupons can be great savers as well.
The online discounts and coupons are often overlooked, so use the website after you have purchased a book. You are not limited by the location that you purchased.
____________
Note on Restaurants.com / Theidealmeal.com offer for purchase -- you can go through the redemption process, and upon checkout, you get the browser error message for pages not found. You must go back to that homepage (after writing down your certificate # and register, and THEN select. The cart may not show your value until checkout, however. Yes, you may normally buy the certificates for $10, but free is free this time.
