man......Coke-Santa is a doosh

i would say maybe hold on to your points a little longer tho. there's a chance they might do some New Years rewards if the natives continue to beat the drums of discontent on their facebook.

Go ahead and leave. There will be more for those who are persistent

It isn't a matter of "being persistent" or not. It's a matter of it being worth the time. I am not interested in BB, Nike or AMC discounts, so why would I put the effort into this crappy new site? If they're doing away with any kind of travel rewards, then I'm done and my points can expire for all I care. Maybe I'll cash out with a bunch of SW discounts.

BB gift cards are as good as cash. Use them to buy prepaid visas (-$5.95 fee)... Or Amazon GCs (no fee)

Thank you for that tip! Last year, I sold my BB cards on ebay, but your option provides a higher return.

I love flyertalk!

Another option for gift cards is to use a site to exchange it for cash. I've gotten a pretty good deal at cardpool.com. They usually have good rates for popular cards like BB and Target.
EBay is the other option I use. On rare occasions I've even seen cards sell for over face value on eBay.

Or if you shop at Amazon, Best Buy allows you to use their gift cards and reward zone certificates to purchase Kindle Gift cards. Amazon treats a Kindle gift card like any other Amazon gift card. My mother is a fan of the Nook and I have also used BB gift cards to buy Nook gift cards for her (they can also be used at Barnes and Noble)

OK, that just does not make sense

Why not just go to Kroger or some other supermarket and buy them there

Are the Best Buy gift cards still available?

For 625 points. I just did the twitter challenge this morning and it unlocked a $25 gift card for 625 points. I know it's not the best use of points but I have a lot of points to burn through and have a lot of amazon shopping I will be doiong over the next six months.

I, in fact, have sold several gift cards on ebay for amounts that slightly exceed the face value. I actually asked the buyer why they would be so foolish to over-pay for the cards (I may have used a more polite term than "foolish"). I was worried that the purchase might be fraudulent, and that the buyer would later do a chargeback.

The answer I received: Some active ebayers have a surplus of "ebay bucks" reward points, and they want to convert these points to a cash equivalent (gift cards), and they are willing to pay a slight premium to do so.

So, that makes a little more sense ---- I have done stranger things myself!

Sometimes one of the portals will offer a bonus of $5 or $10 if you make a purchase of or over a certain amount on e-bay, and that incentivizes weird behavior as well.

Trouble creating a Beta account

Did any of you have trouble creating a Beta account? If so, what did you do? Do you know of any way to contact a live person at My Coke Rewards to get help?

Here's the situation: A friend of mine has had a regular My Coke Rewards account for years, using her Yahoo e-mail address. She has had no problem at all accessing that MCR account (except when the system is on the fritz for everyone).

She has been trying to create a parallel Beta account, using the same Yahoo e-mail account and password as for her regular MCR account, but it won't work. When she gets the e-mail from MCR to "verify" her account, and clicks on the link (or even copies it and enters it) it won't verify! All that happens is she gets the splash screen that says:

Sorry we could not verify that email address.
Enter your email below and we'll send you
another email.
When she does that, it's the same result -- she gets another "please verify" e-mail at her Yahoo account, but when she clicks on the button or copies the link, she gets sent back to the "sorry" splash screen.

As I said, it is her e-mail address, she gets e-mail (including the "please verify" e-mail) at that account, and she can use it to sign into her regular MCR account. When she contacts MCR on-line, they tell her it's Yahoo's fault and to contact Yahoo. Yahoo doesn't know anything about this, and thinks it's MCR's problem. (I would add that I also used my Yahoo e-mail account for my regular MCR account, and had no problem using the same e-mail account and password to set up my parallel Beta account, so it doesn't seem inherent in having a Yahoo e-mail account.)

I can't see how it would be any problem at Yahoo's end, since I can't see what they would or could do to prevent MCR from using the e-mail address for the account name or why they would even be interested in doing so.

She wants to talk with a human being at MCR to try to sort this out. I suppose one solution might be to use a different e-mail account to set up the MCR Beta account, but that would seem to require MCR to transfer the points in her current regular account to the new Beta account with the new e-mail address. Even that would seem to necessitate talking with a real person somewhere at the MCR end.

Anyway, (1) Has anyone else had a similar problem, and if so how did you resolve it; (2) Does anyone have a phone number that can be used to talk with someone at MCR Beta (feel free to PM me if you're uncertain about posting it publicly); and (3) Any other suggestions on how to approach this?

Thanks in advance.
