Do we have a rare case of award deflation? Guess they weren't selling very well.

Does anyone know if these points can be deposited into someone else's PC account they way the DL miles could?

^ ^ to Coke.

im definitely not much of a PC rewards person but thought that was the best value on here... so I transferred 500 MCR points to PC and got the code ok for 2000 points but when I got to my PC account it keeps saying the code is invalid.. any one know what might be happening here?

ok never mind.. I just started over from scratch and it worked.. go figure

but I'm glad I waited on this one.. this wait was worth it

Great catch! I just redeemed for 500 points. Got the email conf within minutes and the points posted to my account immediately after completing the form.

Thanks!

^ ^ to Coke.

They don't seem to care whose account it goes into. You enter the account number on the PC form.

Yes. They can. I just got one each from my buddy's & my own MCR acct.s, then put both into my PC acct.
They are just like the PC points vouchers given out at hotels & on Ambassador renewals :) .

Also, when the 20 or so-digit code pops up on the MCR Website, it cannot be cut & pasted, but the one U get in the confo email can be--so U don't have to type it as I did ;) !

Are you going to take away my FT card?

I went for the Conde Nast Travel Magazine for 120 pts. I really am not collecting PC points right now.

P.S. Thanks for the codes everyone. It really helped.

BRENDAN --

Thanks for the heads up! ^ ^

I, too, think this is much more reasonable and I also feel that this seems to put a death knell to any hope that the DL awards will be resurrected any time soon.:(

Thanks! I redeemed for 500! ^

I don't see the connection between the two. Care to elaborate?

Here is a pretty interesting bonus with this reward. I just noticed that these points count toward to elite status with PC. I just emptied my wife and my MCR account for 10k PC Points (which works out to a free night at a HI Express). I logged in and noticed that I am now only 10k away from Gold Status with PC. Not bad.

I posit that Coke is aware that there are a number of people that have inquired as to when or if the Delta awards will be coming back.

In this forum, we have received conflicting information whether or not the Delta awards will be brought back, or brought back anytime soon.

At the same time, from the response of our bretheren, it seemed that the consensus was that the Priority Club awards were quite overvalued -- especially when compared to the Delta awards.

Indeed, I still feel this way, but with the DL awards MIA, at best, Coke may have reasoned that they may as well as cut the Priority Club awards as a way to both move them out of inventory, as well as to throw them as a sop to those who collect frequency rewards points/miles.

I may be wrong, but I do not think that there is any other such offeror of such currency in the Travel rewards section -- or even across the reward categories -- other than DL and PC.

So, that is my thinking in a nutshell.

I might be wrong, but if I am not, and these awards have a run on them, at least -- like the DL awards before them -- I was not lefting holding a bag of MCR points with nothing of interest to me left in their catalog!

Or two (2) free nights at some Pointsavers hotels.

Maybe they're just running it like a retail operation. They discount the slower moving merchandise to move it off the shelves.

I could see them raising the price on DL miles if they restock them, based solely on how well they sold at the previous price.

I just don't buy the connection based on the mile/points categorization. It would be like not restocking a popular style of Levis because sales of Lees were sluggish and required discounting.

bosman Jun 7, 2007 9:07 pm

Interesting quandary: use up MCR points on the newly valued PC awards before they too possibly disappear, or hold onto MCR points in the hopes that they restock the DL awards. I'll have to think about this one.

Thanks for the info about the 1/2 price PC codes. This helped me out a lot.
