The Kroger gift cards will not show up if you aren't currently logged into your MCR account, also - much like some past rewards like New Hampshire NASCAR tickets - they only show up for people with mailing addresses on record with MCR in certain states (in this case most likely states that actually have Kroger stores), and

2. I just checked and the $25 Kroger GC's are currently out of stock.

No, I'm having the same problem. After trying to reset my password, I gave them a call. It turns out they locked my account, and I'm 90% certain I know what happened. I'm going to be pretty angry if they don't help solve this problem the easy way. I recently redeemed almost all, about 5000, of my points for gift cards to get us through the holidays.

Here is the situation:

I live in a household of three people but, as the man of the house, I handle the points and had three separate accounts for us. I recently redeemed for gift cards under each account. I think that having my name on the redeeming address of all three rather than each of our names on one is going to be stupid little fine print they haggle me on. They say you can have one account per person but five per household. It's annoying that they complain about this when you redeem you points, not when you create the account and provide your information.

So, I called and explained the situation. In an ideal world, I expect them to solve this issue by just changing the names on two accounts to my family members and unlocking the accounts. However, I will not be the least bit surprised if I have to do some complain up a ladder to solve this. It's extra annoying that the person I talk to can't be the one to handle this while I'm on the phone. The lack of two-way communication is why I think this will be a pain.

If you have your name on all 3 accounts, then you really have 3 accounts, not 1 for each person in the household.

Did I not admit that mistake? Why don't they make it complain when I enter the name and address instead of when I redeem in order to prevent this? It's annoying if they are going to make a big deal between me using my name twice versus mine once and my wife's once when they're being delivered to the same family. If it floats their boats then we can change the names on the other two, but I'm going to be pissed if the try to deny the items I redeemed points for over such a small detail. We're not talking about a free Coke, but about 5000 points redeemed.

So, it's their job to search their database when someone joins to be sure that they don't have an existing account with a different email address? You want them to keep you from breaking the rules? Then, when you get caught breaking the rules, you want them to change names on the account and allow you to redeem the points?

Let's first clarify that this was an instance of breaking rules when the offender wasn't aware of the rules. There's a huge difference between breaking rules intentionally and by accident. I'm saying that denying my name on two accounts would have been a simple way to avoid this. I've programmed databases myself. It's not that hard to check if a name is already on an account. Moreover, they already check email addressess are only used once. Doing so for emails but not names suggests only a distinct email is necessary for a second account. Check the site and see how much you have to search to find the rule about one account per person. Come on! There is even a South Park episode about how nobody carefully reads terms and conditions.

If you don't read the terms and conditions, it's your fault for not reading them. You chose to not read them. Do you sign up for many things without reading the terms and conditions or program rules?

As far as finding where they state that, it's easily found if you click on the "Program Rules" link on the registration page.

They'd not only have to search the database to see if someone's name appeared twice, but they'd also have to check addresses at sign-up then, otherwise anyone who had the same name as another person (John Smith for example) would be denied opening an account.

I can't believe that I am defending MCR, but you must be kidding. The T&C regarding your point, which were very easy to find (about 1/5 of the way down the page) are very explicit:

2. How to Create Your My Coke Rewards Account: Once on the Website, individuals who do not already have an existing account on another Coca-Cola website or My Coke Rewards account, can click on the "Register Now" link and follow the instructions to create an Account. An individual must have a unique valid e-mail address to create an account. Limit 1 Account per person, 5 Accounts per household and 10 Accounts per physical address. The person who is the authorized e-mail account holder of the e-mail address indicated when registering must provide date of birth information when registering for an Account and will be deemed the Enrollee.
It is your responsibility to follow the T&C. There is no South Park exception, like it or not.
