?'s w/ free samples

Does anyone forget what samples they ordered, and then have a surprise when they show up in the mail? I had two of those arrive in the mail this week. One was a package of hair elastics that had a note in them about being free, and the other was a little Dior gift bag with decent sized perfume samples, and a card for a make-up consultation for two people from "The Oprah Magazine." I don't remember ordering either of them, but I won't complain! Anyone else have that problem?

I never keep track of the samples ... I just LOVE the surprises that come in the mail. My husband even laughs now when he brings in the mail ... he lets me know I have a "present". A nice little bright spot to the day ...

I totally forget about them unless it something that really interested me. For example, I would have loved a little bag of Dior samples....something like that I would have watched for in the mail.

But the rest - pens, post a notes, cocoa mix - are always a nice little added pleasant surprise to my day since they take about 6 - 10 weeks to arrive. But once I've filled out a coupon for them, it's totally forgotten about.

Since this is a Flyer Forum....

I love the amenity kits given out on the airlines when I fly internationally. And the foreign carriers have even better ones than our domestic airlines, especially when they're gender specific. But I only take about 1 or 2 international trips a year and a friend of mine in another state travels often internationally and could care less about them. But he knows I like them so he'll often ask the FA for a female kit "for his wife" and then surprise me with one in the mail. He never tells me he's going to send one, he just does. I love 'em!
BTW, when I collect alot of them, I rearrange the contents so each has the basics - unused toothbrush, socks, earplugs, moisturizing creme, etc - and then donate them to homeless shelters where they're very much appreciated.

If it's something I really want or I'm looking forward to, then I'll usually remember it and keep an eye out for it. The others though, just kind of show up one day and surprise me, so it's a bit of a treat that arrives amongst the junk mail.
