Better option is e-surveys where for 15 or 20 minutes you can earn $5 or $10. You can then use this to buy a $25 e-cert from NWA.

I'd spend my time on the other site.

Jayson

Are you so busy that a 5 minute survey for 20 or 25 miles is not worth your time? Can't do them while you are downloading other email etc.? Why not do both e-rewards and e-miles?

IMHO many peoples' experience with e rewards is that they often fail to post and that makes it worth LESS to me! In fact anything like that makes a mile worthless in most cases, as it becomes a costly pain in the %#!#@! to get that mile! maybe some of you have had no probs with erewards but I sure have and so I avoid them and delete their constantly incoming spam emails.

Conversely, the e miles thing seems ok to me...
It's just new and slow, right now, but I will give it a chance. hey, I got a whopping 320 miles now! hahahaha ;)

I did get this from them monday, though:

Subject: An e-Miles(R) Program Update

Dear Me,
Thank you again for joining e-Miles®.
You're one of the first individuals to join this new program. As a Charter Member,
you'll be participating in a totally new marketing communications channel, and
earning miles for engaging with some of America's leading companies.
Since our November announcement, we've enrolled thousands of new Members
who, like you, have heard of the program and visited our website to join.
Earlier this month, we began inviting millions of America's most important
consumers - members of airline mileage programs, to join.
Once each of our airline sponsors have completed sending their first member
enrollment invitations, you'll begin receiving e-Miles earning opportunities.
At first, we expect you will see two or three relevant earning opportunities
each week.
We'll tell you as additional earning opportunities become available, but you'll
never hear from us more frequently than you have agreed.
As more and more of America's leading marketers discover their ability to
engage with you electronically, we expect you'll be able to spend a few
minutes each day, being rewarded for your time.
In the weeks ahead, as your opportunities to earn airline miles grow, you can
visit us online at http://www.e-Miles.com to check for new earning opportunities.
You can earn e-Miles miles right away. If you haven't already done so, visit
http://www.e-Miles.com to complete all your profiles, including a new profile
about pets.
In the coming months, e-Miles looks forward to offering you a whole new way to
earn your favorite reward currency - miles, just for sharing a few minutes of
your time. You will be rewarded for engaging with companies who want to reach
you.
Thank you again for being one of our first new Members.

But, you can get only one e-cert per year (or one milage award). And IIRCC, there are a lot of restrictions on its use. On the other hand, the e-miles program is an ongoing thing and you keep earning all year long.

Received an invite sometime last year... But ignored it... And just got another invite from NW again... And since my NW has been in active for a long long time... I thot why not... Gathered 300+ points so far... Hopefully, that will keep the NW account going...

Sidetrack a little... Is there a summary on the policy enforce by different FF programs regarding inactive account?

I know SQ's miles would expire, UA would requires activities within a timeframe of 18 month to prevent miles from expiring, and NW seems to be the only one that just keep going and going like the energizer rabbit.

OutOfOffice Jan 23, 2007 3:09 pm

Ignored the invitation a couple of weeks ago for NW. Just got an offer to earn CO onepass miles and bit the bullet. Didn't take that long to answer all the initial surveys and get my 295 mile balance.

I thought these guys only transferred points to the airline after you hit 500.

yea, plus they only do it quarterly too.

SingaPaul Jan 24, 2007 8:20 am

Yeap... From what I gather on their website, they will transfer the points quarterly... and in increment of 500... The 300+ points i got are still sitting on the emiles account... They should transfer that over to NW if i manage another 200 points between now and end March...

Ditto, I just did the same survey. Took about three minutes. About five miles per minute. Easy.
Dave

So that's 300 miles/hour...assuming the generous valuation of mile = $0.02, that's $6/hr for our time?

Well at least that's higher than the federal minimum wage, until the $7.25 passes through Senate anyway...:)

Received an e-mail from e-miles today telling me that I had an opportunity to earn points. Brief surveys regarding Hilton, Hertz, Blockbuster, E-Rewards and E-miles (that's all I can remember) I earned about 50 points in total. Check your e-mail or log onto E-miles to see if you have any opportunities to earn points.

Your first e-Miles(R) earning opportunities have arrived!

Same here:

*** Dear gforce,

Your miles are waiting! This week, we officially launch e-MilesŪ, offering you new opportunities to earn frequent flyer miles by viewing messages from many of America's leading advertisers.

To get started, you can view your earning opportunities by going to your Member homepage at
http://www.e-Miles.com .

In addition to viewing messages from our advertisers, you can also earn miles in the following two ways:

1. Earn miles by completing any incomplete Profiles, including our newest Profile about your pets.

2. If you like sharing your opinion with major companies by completing market research surveys, you can earn e-Miles miles by joining the e-RewardsŪ Opinion Panel, one of America's largest consumer research panels. To learn about e-Rewards, check out the earning opportunity on your homepage at http://www.e-Miles.com .

In the weeks ahead, you will be receiving new earning opportunities, either by solo e-mail or on your Member homepage. Early each week, look for an e-mail reminder telling you that new opportunities have become available. Also, be sure to check back at the end of the week, as additional messages may have been added to your homepage.

At the outset, you may only see a limited number of earning opportunities each week. But, as more and more leading marketers discover their ability to engage with you electronically, we expect you'll be able to spend at least a few minutes each day being rewarded for your time.

e-Miles looks forward to offering you a whole new way to earn your favorite rewards - miles, just for sharing a few minutes of your time.

Thanks again for being a part of e-Miles,

The e-Miles Team
