No More Disney DVDs, Alaska Brochures

I used to sign up to receive a Disney vacation DVD, Alaska brochure, cruise information, but when the recent Virgina tourism offer came through offering 10 miles to receive a brochure in the mail, I decided 10 pity miles just wasn't worth it.

To me, getting 10 miles and in exchange having a company waste resources to produce and mail something I don't really care about just isn't worth it. Now, we could say that using energy just to participate in e-Miles isn't worth it, nor is the travel we all do with these miles :D but we must start somewhere and I thought passing on these 10 mile offers was something I could live without.

I would be interested in hearing other people's thoughts.

Just want to add my voice to those earlier posters who redeemed miles (in my case on Feb. 2) and haven't had them credited to their accounts. I have emailed e-miles twice now querying why the miles haven't been credited in my NWA account, but have yet to receive a response. Has anyone gotten an explanation from e-miles? Or had their missing miles posted?

"un-posted"

I have noticed that when I get points for reading emails and there is a "sign up" or "register" bonus that it is usually more likely to post immediately to my account if I read the email and exit and then go back register thru "recently viewed" option.

I have done that many times and got lazy for a reacent Shermas Travel opp. and it has yet to post. 2 emails to emiles has gotten me........nuttin honey.

hmmm... nut & honey... does that cereal still exist even? :D

Anyway, it is hard for me to be enticed to register or do anything beyond the simple clicks in things like emiles and MyPoints for these very reasons. Although I have done it and usually end up with similar results. It really makes me wonder who or what runs these marketing promos and what they really think is right. I mean, WHY does it always happen? Is it that the software that all of them use has some bug that just is the way it is, and we get the brunt of it in mile and point land, or is there something else?

I would LOVE to spend ONE day in some emile, mypoint, or worldperks mall room where this stuff actually goes down (and kick the arses of those who have pained us so whilst I am in there!). It would be kinda like visiting the ben & jerry's factory in VT :D Maybe they even give you 3 miles per day if you work there! (B&J gives its employees 3 pints a day! mmmm)

Can we like do a DO to THAT???????

Yeah I know whatcha mean but how many times have you received "junk mail" with NOTHING offered for you at all except another mispelling of your name as you toss it all toward the circular files and help ruin the environment by plugging up more landfills for them? At least these guys--who are gonna spend and send anyway--are giving the 10 miles. I just wouldnt go chasing them down or anything if they fail to post. You could use the miles to fly on a plane and help promote more CO2 useage like we all do! :D

Just my two cents (plus stamp:D)

I bet the new system of emiles somehow does not quite interface with the already convoluted new system of NWA's WorldPerks...

Email this lady and tell her there's yet ANOTHER marketing problem with partner postings. She's gonna tell you to get lost and that she doesnt handle this stuff, but she works in management at WorldPerks and in my opinion, they need every tidbit of missing mile complaint from partenrs that they can get, as proof to the fact their entire WP world has holes and errors in its structure! It is worth at least a try and one more person's letter:

[email protected]
don't tell her I sentcha!

I believe information similar to the following has been posted by others on this board, but let me share an excerpt from an email I received from e-Miles Member Services about using e-Miles in the Delta partners promotion:

e-Miles is participating in this partner offer with Delta. While you may not have a deposit during this period of time, we will send Delta a separate file for this promotion with all Members who have activity during the time frame of 01/15 through 03/15. As long as you work offers, earn miles and remain active during that time period, you will appear on the list we send to Delta and the cumulative e-Miles offers will be considered as one transaction. Miles won’t be deposited at that time but your activity on e-Miles will count as one unique partner activity.
Assuming this policy has not been posted for the general public, I'm trying to get a similar e-mail from e-Miles. How much time elapsed between your e-mail to them and receipt of this e-mail?

Hi there! I'm new here, I've been reading this thread for a while but got lost somewhere. I've a question, how long does it take e-miles to post the miles in a Onepass (continental) account?

Thanks

It took 2 emails. First was sent on a Monday, but I received no response. On Friday of the same week I sent a followup request, and received the answer within 3 hours.

I will add that my email was about some bonus miles that I hoped would post to the e-miles account in time to redeem 500 miles and have them show up in my Delta account before March 15. My mention of the Delta promotion was what prompted the response about activity in the e-miles account counting toward the partner promotion.

I remain skeptical about this information, because I don't understand how e-miles activity would post to a Delta account in a manner that would qualify as partner activity. It can't show up as miles, because no miles were earned. What's the alternative?

I just got my e-miles- miles exactly 1 month after i requested them...I thought i was going to have to wait the full 6-8 weeks after i didnt see them in two

someone on the 25K thread posted that emiles are posting to accounts on the dates they were requested vs. the dates they post. can anyone confirm that?

I can confirm that:

15 Feb 2008 e-Miles - (posted on 06Mar2008) 500 0 500

such practice is commonplace in NWA and most of sky team in terms of how they post miles.
Bugs me but hey, that's why I print out records to check against.

Thank you for your input on this matter. I also got my own personal guarantee that active e-Miles participants will get a unique partner credit in the Delta promo, after sending them a 2nd e-mail.

I signed up for E-Miles with NW and my recent 500-mile transfer occured rather timely without any problems to WP. Too bad I cannot 'switch' e-Rewards from DL to NW. I signed up for that in the beginning through a DL promo so now I'm locked in but don't bank SM miles since NW is ST partner.

Before you suggest it, I have considered opening a new account to a separate e-mail account but it appears in their TOS that this will lead to cancellation of all points. I usually only redeem HH points but did do a DL miles transfer to have activity for the few miles still sitting there. You never know...I usually have enough activity to keep the balance higher than my maximum redemptions to the programs I use. I'm not a power shopper so the percentage off deals don't really tempt me much.

And for the post about not ever going on vacation in VA, well, you don't know what you may be missing. Virginia is for lovers, after all.

You'll soon be able to launder e-rewards $ to e-miles at a rate of $25/500 miles.
