Starbucks Summer Contest

Got a $5 gift card so far. Starbuckssummer.com, or text "summer" to 66268.

For those who haven't used text messages before:

1) This may cost you $$ - many phones w/o a text plan will charge $.05/msg, in and out. There are packaged plans from most carriers with message bundles ranging from 100 for arount $2-3 to unlimited for $10/mo.

2) To send a text message (at least on a Motorola phone): select messages from the menu. Create a message. Type the message (like, "summer"). Send the message to the # indicated - 66268 for this promo, or any cell # to send something to a person. Another interesting # to send to is 46645 (google).

3) When you receive a msg, you should be prompted to read the message. To reply, you can just hit, "reply."

Technology challenged

OK, I'm a little confused on the whole "text thing". I have a motorola razr phone...anyone want to explain to me how I text the above described to Starbucks? I'm not usually this ignorant, but just have never gotten into the whole text thing!

Thanks.

Click on the envelope (right side of phone pad), select "create message", then select "new text message",in the blank space use the key pad to write SUMMER, click on "one time entry" and write in 66268, click send.

when you get the questions just click on reply and write in your answer and click send.

If this is totally confusing, you are welcome to pm me on a phone other than your cell and after SF Giants beat Phil. today I will call you back.

Good luck!

When you answer the first question with the answer "Brazil", you will be sent a code that you put in the promo box when you register again.

week 2 question

Just received this text message on my phone:

"Week 2. It's time for the next clue in the Starbucks Summer Pursuit: My rain forests make ecotourism eco-fabulous."

Seems like there are several countries that promote ecotourism. Anyone wanna venture a guess?
