e-rewards hertz cert redemption
I redeemed my $50 in e-rewards for 2 day off 7 day hertz car rental. They wrote me a mail saying they will send me the cert in mail. Nothing came, I complaned and they said they will resend, nothing has come again. I checked my address with them , it is correct.
Has anyone else seens this happen? I have already said they have sent twice to me.
Are they taking me for a ride here?

Are there any other discounts you can apply to this?
Oddly enough, my AA miles credited after only a couple of days. This seems rather quick for Erewards.

Same EXACT problem for me on a 1 free day for 5 day rental. Several Emails back and forth with no certificate ever coming by postal mail.
Latest "solution" they proposed was to FedEx the certificate to me. We shall see...

I was wondering how much these Hertz certificates were really worth. On a 7-day rental, the weekly rate is usually far less than 7 times the daily rate. Taking two days off the 7 day rental leaves 5 days and for 5 days, the same weekly rate is still usually less than 5 times the daily rate. So how do you save anything with the certificate.
Same situation with a 5-day rental. The lowest rate on a 5-day rental is usually the weekly rate, not the daily rate x 5. Taking a day off the 5 day rental leaves 4 days and 4 times the daily rate is almost the same as the weekly rate. So I don't see how you save much here either.
Perhaps someone more knowledgeable than I can explain.

"I was wondering how much .."
Lots! When it drags the rubes into the store..
Rent A Week - Weekend Free ! /or/ - Two Days Free! /or/ lipstick on a pig
Recalculate that weekend days are a bit cheaper, but, yeah ... you're on to them.
Free Gas & Upgrades ^ Yum.

I have used the two free day on weekly rental. eRewards gave me a promo code (CDP#) to enter on the rental agreement. eRewards emailed me the code to use. I used this in conjuction with my employers corp discount (PC#) with no problem. Hertz took the weekly rate (say $210), divided by 7 times 2 ($60 total) and gave me a bill for $150 plus taxes and fees. I confirmed this with Hertz before the trip.
Worked great! Did this at a rental at LAX Feb 2005.
