One server can cause this much disruption to the entire system? They didn't have a redundant server? Sounds more suspicious then a simple one server crash. Onesuite might have been hacked. They just don't want to let on.

I have no idea what a "redundant server" is, but I was finally able to log in day before yesterday and restore our zipdial numbers. It's working again for us. I'm not questioning whether or not they paid their bills, or what backup servers they have, or don't have. It's working again, and we're happy about that.

I just placed a call using my "card." It went thru and my minutes seem about where I think it should be. There was no mention of the website.

I think I'll wait a while before attempting to log in.

On another forum somebody is saying they got through to a CSR who told them they lost their main server, and when they went to their backup server that crashed too, so they had nothing left.

I'm able to place calls, though the system no longer recognizes my phone number, and I have to type in the PIN. Annoying, but bearable.

The home page is up, and reamins up this morning. However, I cannot log into my account. It asks for additional information, but even when I type that in, the system cannot find my account.

I do not use OneSuite on a daily basis, but only found this out at the end of last week, when I tried to log in to refer someone for signup! I called Customer service on Thursday, and they told me that they could issue me a temporary PIN. Not a big deal since I could place calls. They took my verification information and could not help.

I called again Saturday. The phone rang several times before it apparently transferred the call. I now found myself speaking to a woman in a thick (possibly Chinese) accent. She was very polite, but could not answer my questions regarding WHAT the problem is. She was obviously speaking to a colleague next to her, who had to assist her with her English. There is nothing even posted on their website, which I find strange. She was trying to help, and even asked again for my account information. I am a little uncomfortable giving out login and PIN information, which OneSuite often requests. I, too, rarely put more than 15 dollars on the account, so my potential loss is not that great, of course. Despite multiple tries, the woman could not assist me. She, too, offered me a replacement, temporary PIN. I explained to her that I AM able to place calls, but that I just cannot log in, and therefore I cannot refer anyone, nor can I recharge the account. She suggested I give it another day and call back.

I called a few times this morning, and the phone simply rings. I cannot get through. No transfer to the Asian call center, no message. It rings for a while, then just disconnects.

What is happening? Does anyone have more recent information? This must be a very serious problem. One would think that OneSuite would post this information on its website, or at least send its members an e-mail explaining the situation. Of course, if their entire database is gone, they cannot do that. You would think they have better back up.

It all appears to be fixed now.

Went back online yesterday and I could not log in. I was finally successful after resetting my password.

YMMV, but my Rapidial numbers were intact. I did have to re-enter my Zipdial numbers, though.

I received the following e-mail within the past couple of hours:

Sincere APOLOGY
to OneSuite valued customers

Dear Valued Customers,

On behalf of OneSuite Corporation, I would like to sincerely apologize for all the inconveniences we have caused you due to our recent service outage. Since inception, our team has always strived for excellence in delivering the best call quality and rates, customer service and user experience for our customers. Unfortunately, the incident of primary and back-up hardware failing simultaneously was an unforeseeable event.

Since the outage, our engineers and customer support staff have worked around-the-clock in recovering the system and answering customer inquiries. Regrettably during this situation, the beauty of digitalization became our worst enemy; because the server crash also clogged our instant communication channel to you, draining your patience. Obviously, the weekend did not contribute to expediting our recovery.

Luckily with the team’s four day-and-night’s hard work and your encouragements, OneSuite is now fully recovered. It was an extremely difficult lesson, and we learned it hard! Going forward, you will see and experience more improvements in OneSuite. We are committed in enhancing our service features and customer support channels, and more elaborate crisis prevention and off-site redundancy plans are in progress. Because we want you to rest assured that similar incident will NOT happen again.

Again, we are truly sorry for the inconveniences caused, and we look forward to serving you again.

Sincerely yours,

Jim Chiu

President
OneSuite Corporation
I am not going to discontinue using www.OneSuite.com for my telephone service. However, www.OneSuite.com is now my back-up for telephone service, as www.talkloop.com is less expensive per minute for domestic telephone calls.

From here on in, I am using www.talkloop.com for domestic telephone calls using a local telephone number, and I am using www.onesuite.com for domestic calls using a toll-free telephone number.

Depending on how much it costs to call another country, as well as accessibility of local telephone numbers, I will decide whether to use www.talkloop.com or www.onesuite.com, but having both services, plus my AT&T card, which I use whenever I am outside of the United States (as it is 3.4¢ per minute for telephone calls placed within the United States), should round out my telephone service well.

Not sure if this will help. If you are comfortable using VoIP, you can make free domestic calls using Voipbuster. Skype only allows 800 numbers for free in the States.

Same here. I've been very happy with Talkloop so far. From where I live, the line quality is MUCH better than it's been with Onesuite, and it's great to finally get to use a local access number.
