Greenpoints question

Has anyone actually redeemed any old s&h green stamps for greenpoints?
The two addresses they have provided for me to mail in stamps , have both had my packages returned.
One was an address the greenpoints customer service email provided me. What is the deal?

Red face Where to Send them

Well,... , after I PM'd you, I got a package of stamps returned to me. So I felt after opening my big mouth !! I had sent to addy in GA that I have used for years. But things change apparently
However, I sent an email to their customer service and this is what they said..

quote: To redeem your stamps, simply count them and then package them securely
for shipment. Include a note with your name, address, phone number as
well as the number of stamps enclosed. On the note also please specify
if you are redeeming them for cash or converting them to points.

Please do not mail loose stamps. If you do not have books, paste them
onto an 8 1/2-11 sheet of paper.

Send the package via U.S. Insured Parcel Post for the value of the
stamps to:

S&H greenpoints, Customer Care Center
PO Box 4000
Fenton, MO 63099

Please do not send the stamps via UPS. We cannot be responsible for the
stamps unless they are sent insured. Please retain a copy of your
insurance receipt for this reason.

You're kidding, right?

Seriously, certain grocery stores, gas stations, and other merchants for years gave out savings stamps with your purchases (S&H, Top Value, and Family Stamps come to mind), usually one stamp for every $0.10 spent. We pasted these stamps into "books" (50 to a page) and redeemed them at special centers or by catalogue for merchandise--hand mixers, sleeping bags, you name it. They were mostly discontinued in the late '70s, IIRC, replaced by "double coupons" and other store promotions.

And don't forget Blue Chip Stamps. We even used to bowl for those. I'd forgotten about that. Wonder what happened to the old S&H books I never spent? Mutter, mutter, mutter.....

Snowdust...
When I had them returned to me in the mail, I had sent them to an address in Ft. Lauderdale. Who knows where they are located.
