Angry MyPoints: Increase in redemption values

I was about to make a redemption for a $50 Macy's card. It use to require 5250 Mypoints - now it requires 5750 Mypoints - an increase of 500 Mypoints. It looks like several other have seen similar increases.

My question: were these increase announced or is Mypoints doing another fast one on its members?

I never saw any announcements, though that isn't really surprising with these sort of programs.

I don't do Mypoints very often, but about a year ago I did redeem 1250 points for a $10 Barnes & Noble gift card and I see that award is still the same.

I didn't see an announcement either. But I checked my two redemptions, Hilton Honors points and Red Lobster gift cards; and they're still the same number of points. So it wasn't a unilateral raise.

The rewards I usually claim are still the same. I hope that they do not raise them all.

PEACE!
