Does anyone ever get the "free" laptops etc?

I don't know about you, but my inbox is flooded with all these offers of free laptops, ipods, etc for getting credit cards, etc. Are all these a rip or has anyone ever actually gotten an item. If it seems too good to be true.......

Ok, so are these companies sending you unsolicited email (SPAM)? Do they disguise their real email or intentions?

A companys offers and guarantees are only as good as their reputation. If these people are spamming you, I would not bite.

Also, what better way to get someone's information than to send an offer "too good to be true" and get people to relinquish their personal information.

Now, let's assuume they ARE for real. A real company with a real offer. How do you think they can afford to give away a computer, even if it is only worth a couple hundred dollars to them?

A good source of real cards is at http://www.cardweb.com

Also, you have to read all offers very carefully. A company used to offer "Color TV's". Yes, they were TV's and worth $10 or so. They were black and white TV's available in red or white or blue plastic cases... The TV's were in color, just not the picture.

I am just too skeptical to think that many of these offers are real. If they were, we would be posting them in the S.P.A.M. forum :-)

This is true, and I recommend healthy skepticism. But there is a company offering free stuff - ipods, flat screen tvs, computers - that apparently is really doing that. They don't make anything from you, but they make something from the companies that you go to in order to take part in the offer. You must take part in an offer (some are free, others cost something) and get some number of people to do so as well. They know that many of the people who sign up and do an offer will never get enough other people - and they are paid by the partner companies for the referral.

Just be careful - and don't commit to paying anything unless you are sure you want it.

Yes...they work!

I've tried all of the free offers from gratis...freeipods, freeflatscreens, freehandbags, and freedesktoppcs. I received my ipod and flat screen. My free pc is on it's way and I still have a few more referals to get for the free handbag. I know for a fact that gratis is legit...not sure about the other companies as I have never tried their offers.

Thumbs up They do work

I too, have received a iPod Mini, a Toshiba 24" TV/VCR/DVD combo (and they even paid the shipping for that beast!!!) and a $500 Bank of America gift card (VISA)

So, it does work... of course, there are offers to complete but sometimes, these are offers that you might be looking for and even if they cost marginally more than something you might have priced out yourself, the free product in the end tips the balance in your favor.

Echoing the previous poster, I know Gratis is genuine - never had a problem with them or their customer service. ^

To you and bnarayan1511 I ask - how do you get so many people to do this for you. I've had the hardest time getting 5 for an Ipod. I have lots of people who say "sure, I'll do that" - but then it seems they just don't have the patience to deal with it.

Have any of your referrals also gotten free stuff too?

What do they do to verify?

I just completed my 5 referrals for the free Ipod - now they say that they take time to verify all my referrals. What does that mean - do they call people and ask them about it (I'd have to remind my dad about it), or what?

Does anyone know?

They just check the validity of your address, email and your signing up for a trial product.

What's the gift card?

I got the iPod, TV, and computer. And I'm working on the photo iPod. Just learned about the handbag.

But I don't know anything about a $500 Visa gift card?

Yes, some of my referrals have got some free stuff. Mostly, these are firends/colleagues that I persuade to sign up, saying I will take full responsibility for making sure they cancel on time etc. etc. - even to the extent of bearing any costs they may incur (trial subscription fees etc.) - sometimes, they like an offer and sign on just to help. Most of them don't really care for the free stuff - they just do it to indulge me

I don't remember the exact site where I got the Bank of America $500 gift card - I will look it up but a quick google search revealed a few... check this out for a $500 Macy's gift card
http://www.emarketresearchgroup.com/...talog_id=28&c=

As one would expect, these are much more involved/cumbersome - be sure you have an e-mail for all this that is separate from your own because you WILL get spammed.

Cheers - let the free stuff keep on flowing
