Yeah, but worth a shot to try nonetheless... Can we even try and create one here? Check your PM...

I think you'd have to refer to the sticky at the top of the page & check with the mods to see if they'd be willing to undertake that huge task - I managed the thread for a little while & it's a tough thing to do - that's asking a lot of the mods.

I really don't think we should, with the 100 minimum restrictions it's nearly impossible

And since it's really a pyramid scheme, we are not going to allow new ones.

Sorry

No problem...Just thought I'd ask.

Was there a definitive answer about bringing back the freeipod.com? I just signed up, and would be happy to manage the conga. I wasn't quite sure what was going on. The sticky says no new congas, but does this apply since this is for the freeipod.com and is still allowed

My link is http://www.freephotoiPods.com/?r=12179453

PM me or respond here if you're interested and we can re-start this conga.

MeLike2Travel , did you follow the rules?

We are not allowing any more threads of this type, let's just say that this one has been grandfathered.

Otherwise, we will continue this thread as is.

For those who are interested in participating in a Free Photo iPod conga, there are a bunch located on Yahoo. I posted a link to one in another thread, but that thread quickly turned into a quasi conga line, and was subsequently shut down.

If anyone you would like to participate in a conga for a free photo iPod, go to Yahoo and sign up for one, but please do not post your referral link here on FlyerTalk.

Here are 2 of the better organized yahoo conga lines. The first one seems to be just starting out, so the chances should be pretty good. Good Luck to all!

Again, please do not post your referral link on FlyerTalk!

Note to Mods: If my post is at all out of line, please feel free to edit out the links.

HELP!!!!!!!

I've had a heck of a time with freeipods.com...I finally got my 5 referrals, and they keep telling me my account is on HOLD due to inconsistencies, etc., but I truly have 5 valid referrals and they keep telling me I don't.

Here is the latest thread with them, where they are basically telling me to go away. I've had people spend money on their offers and now they don't seem ot be upholding their end of the bargain. Does anyone have any idea what I can do at this point?...any methods of recourse, a phone number, BBB, etc? What should I do?

This account will remain on hold. As per previous discussions, we have noted numerous violations of our terms and conditions regarding user walk through and multiple accounts on your referral list. We did not give any indication or assurance that the account would come off hold by obtaining more referrals. Please do not refer additional users to our site as it will not change the status of your account. This account will remain on hold indefinitely.

It has been one week and I had not yet heard back regarding the status on my account. Can you please review my note below and ensure that my account is up-to-date and that my 5 referrals are now valid so we may proceed? Thank you for your help in this matter.

We take abuse of our website very seriously, and will place accounts suspicious of fraudulent activity on hold.

The reasons for this may include: multiple accounts, improper offer completions, more than one account to the same address/household, abusing an advertiser, or other reasons not listed here. Additionally, we do not allow users to create accounts for, sign-up for, or "walk through" referrals.

We take all types of fraud very seriously, and since we give our products away for free, we cannot afford to be lenient on dishonest methods users try to obtain their free items.

Since our last discussion concerning my account status (where I had three valid referrals), two new friends have signed up and validated their accounts by completing an offer. I belive I once again have 5 valid referrals...can you please review my account to ensure that I have met the requirments necessary to proceed with a validated / completed account? Thank you for your time and assistance in this matter.

I'm not sure how you can tell me my status is still on hold...you validated my first 5 referrals, threw one out, and one new person (whom I did not even expecxt to complete an offer) joined the mix by legitamitely completing an offer and you still say my account is not valid? I now have had a total of 6 people sign up for and complete an offer (additionally my brother signed up for two offers) and have another in-process (friend) and that is still not enough to satisfy the requirements?? Please help me understand how I have not successfully completed all the requirements in an honest and forthright way.

My last request for check of my 5 referrals came back as a continued status of HOLD due to fraud. Can you please indicate which of the offers you feel is fraud that is keeping me from moving forward withg a valid account? My 5 referrals consist of my brother, mother-in-law, neighbor, and two friends. I have legitimately and honestly completed my own requirements, as well as those folks listed above. I also have one additional referral on the way from another friend as he has signed up for the Blockbuster offer. Please show me where there is a problem so I may correct the issue and move forward with a valid account and obtain my free iPod. Thank you for your response.

Did you follow the "one per household" rule?

E Jan 13, 2005 12:46 pm

Yes...here is more of the "inside scoop".

Originally tried to get my wife on the program, they said not a good referral. I helped my brother (who lives in FL, I'm in IA) and mother-in-law (who lives in OH) sign up and perform their offers, meaning I logged on for them and signed up for whichever offer they wished (from my machine)...they said I could not do that from my machine. My current 5 "valid" referrals are my neighbor, brother-in-law, best friend, and two other friends...each of whom signed-up and performed their offer on their own machines, yada-yada-yada...

Yeah, I've heard these sites track IP addresses. One instance of what they consider "fraud" and you could have your account put indefinitely on hold. What sucks is that you don't get reviewed until you have completed all your referrals and they have made their money!

I'm not sure if you'll ever get any good response from them - I was lucky and got my IPOD, but every time I sent a message to their "customer service" I got back what was obviously a canned response that didn't in any way address my questions. I had a couple people sign up that I didn't get credit for, for no apparent reason. They showed up on my list, and on their own account it said that they had completed an offer (and these were actually legitimate signups), but they just didn't show on mine as completed. Good luck -

The company, Gratis Network, could do a lot to make the whole process go much more smoothly, but they don't seem to want to do that.
