Any comments to quality of services .
Any mile offers ?

I've got Time Warner cable in MN and have been surprisingly happy with their service. Very few glitches and customer service is decent, even if phone wait times are high.

No mileage offers that I know of with them, although Earthlink always seems to have something.

Its very helpful to know that the Time Warner product is a satisfactory one.
It appears that you can get 10 k in miles in a variety of airlines if you go through
Earthlink and then let their partner Time Warner provide the service.
At least thats what we were told here in NY

I would definitely go with Earthlink using Time Warner, that is how I am using it right now, and here is the Delta special for 5,000 miles

I would highly recommend using Earthlink instead of the plain Road Runner service, particularly for the dial-up access, Road Runner doesn't have it.

Earthink should also be cheaper than Road Runner. If you are a USAA member you can get some additional discounts on Earthlink sign-up.

I have Time Warner digital cable with an HDTV & PVR box, along with Road Runner internet. A very good service, but can be expensive if you sign-up for more service than you really need. I get a $5 discount on my internet, because of the cable package I subscribe to, so I pay $39.95 a month for Road Runner, instead of $45.95. More expensive than DSL, but faster speeds. They advertise their internet downloads are up to 3000 kbps. With me, when testing through dslreports.com, downloads are usually in the 2700 kbps range, and uploads are about 300 kbps. Fast enough, even if you're using several PCs at once in your house that are viewing streaming video. You get one standard dynamic internet IP. With that, I'm also able to run a web server using a service called dns2go.com, which costs about $20 a year. You just need to know a little about configuring a router, a domain name, and a web server, but it's not very complicated.

As far as earning miles from Time Warner/Road Runner, I do pay my bill via their telephone touch-tone payment system with my AAdvantage MasterCard, so I earn miles for that.

For Earthlink, there is an eBay/Anything Points offer for dial-up service (see: http://anythingpoints.ebay.com/getpoints.html ). But it's only 200 points a month for a year. Anything Points can be converted into certain airline miles programs through Points.com. There is a large discussion about this on the AA board ( http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=312953 ) if you're interested.

My friend signed up for the 10,000 points offer (on Delta) and had a terrible time getting the miles credited. You have to wait 6 months, then they tell you that it takes 6-8 weeks for processing, and they will not talk to you until that additional time has elapsed. Even then, he did not get the credit. It took several more calls to customer service to actually get the miles credited to his account. I just passed my 6 month mark, and am now beginning the calls to customer service. Just wanted to warn you that this is not a company that simply grants you the miles when they are supposed to - you may have to do a fair amount of work to actually get them. As for their cable TV and Earthlink internet service, I have been very happy (just not with the air miles portion of it).

Actually Road Runner does offer dial-up phone numbers around the U.S., for using the service when you're away from home and don't have access to a broadband connection. There is a limit on how many free hours you can use the dial-up service each month, otherwise there is no additional charge. At least this is the way it is with Road Runner in the West San Fernando Valley.

I noticed on my last TW bill (I have Earthlink through TW lines) that they would take a credit card for payment as well. I might have to switch my billing over to the credit card.

It was at the bottom of the bill on the back of the payment stub.

right now the Earthlink Cable modem in MN is handled by TW. Under the NWA promo you can get 10,000 for 4 months @ 42.95 per month, plus that will qualify you for Fly Free Faster 2004 which will get you another 10,000 miles once you do 5 partners (5 idines count). So for the extra $20 you can get 10,000 more miles (5 idine's @ $4 each)
