Any luck with MilesSource?

I have been a lurker for several months and have finally found the courage to jump in here and participate :-) My question is -- has anyone had any luck using the MilesSource website? I've been "toying" with it for a few weeks now, but so far have not been too impressed. Is the "Points for Games" legitimate? How easy is it to redeem earned points?

I have had luck with Milesource...good and bad. It was nearly impossible to get customer service to respond to my help desk postings. It was about 50/50 on whether my point transactions would actually post. If they failed to post properly, customer service would sometimes post the points manually...SOMETIMES. Redemptions have also been hit or miss. They take FOREVER to be processed, but they do come. Once Milesource turns your request over to the "partner" who will fulfill the redemption, things flow like silk. I have received all my redemptions from the same place and they are a very professional customer oriented company. Problem is, it can take Milesource several months of ignoring you send your redemption request to someone who actually cares whether it is fulfilled.

OOPS!! That last sentence should go "before they send your redemption request to somone who actually cares if it is fulfilled." I never played the games. All of my points were from purchases, surveys and joining websites.

I agree with the above poster. They do deliver, but very slowly. Also, don't buy the products with your points! I got a kitchen chopper, and its a useless piece of plastic.

As a big sucker for free junk (points of any kind) I signed up for MileSource.com The payouts seem generous (5000 miles = $50 gift certificate) however, they are probably the most stingy with their miles.

However, they have a pyramid based referal program. You earn 10% from referalls one level below you, and 5% for referalls two, three, and four levels beneath you.

We can probably earn a lot of collective miles if we work together and start referring each other.

Someone please sign up using:

http://www.milesource.com/join/join.php3?referrer=xxxx

Once you've signed up, post your referral link and hopefully everyone will be able to get referrals 4 levels deep.

My experiance has been the same... takes a long time to get your reward, but it does come. Also, points have been devalued in the past. For example, last year I redeemed 3500 award miles for a $25 Gap gift card. This year they want 5000 award miles for the same $25 card.

Ten dollar bait and switch

Milesource has gone a long time without a mention in SPAM, so if you infer that its not a favored flyertalk program, I would assert that you are correct.

I had clicked my way to 5000 points, and noticed a ten dollar bill listed on the "5000 point milsource award redemption certificate". So I sent in for the certificate, and was told I would get it in 4 months. When I got it, I was surprised to see that the ten dollars was still there. So I ordered it. I was told that it would be shipped in another 3 months. After about that time, I got an email order confirmation:
"We are happy to inform you that your order from www.MileSource.com has been shipped.
Please allow 2-4 weeks for your order to be delivered."

A couple of weeks later, I got a small box with a $10 Target gift card, and a note saying, "We're sorry, but your order was temporarily out of stock" and they enclosed the gift card. Temporarily out of stock???? After several more months, I finally used it.

At the milesource certificate site:
http://redeem.milesource.net/cgi-bin...96&id=001-8944
they still have the ten dollar bill, though it is covered with a Walmart logo.
It is described as " Cash or check - - $10.00 in legal tender."

A bit misleading, IMO.

I was able to redeem last year. Countless email follow-ups and when I finally got my AMC Movie theatre vouchers they had expired the previous month! They apollogized and sent me new ones.

Have fun but expect a long drawn out redemption process.
