E-rewards AA Question

The AA $50 reward is described as follows:

============
2,500 AAdvantage® Bonus Miles (American Airlines flight required)

Use AA.com to purchase a one-way or round-trip flight on American Airlines, American Eagle, or AmericanConnection®, travel between October 1, 2003 and December 31, 2003 and earn 2,500 AAdvantage bonus miles in addition to any other bonus miles you may qualify for. Miles will be credited after travel is completed. Bonus miles do not count toward elite status qualification. Bonus will be posted within 3-4 weeks after flight activity is posted to the traveler's AAdvantage account. Bonus applies to person traveling. No registration is required."
================

I have $100 in e-Rewards. If I redeem for two AA $50 rewards, will I receive 5,000 miles after buying and traveling on one round-trip ticket? Or do I have to buy two one-way tickets (at a probable higher cost)? What do you think?

You are limited to redeeming one reward per partner per year. So after you redeem one $50 reward on AA, you have to wait until the next calendar year to book another award.

Not true, you can redeem an AA e-rewards award either for 1000 or 2500 points ( in conjuction with a aa.com booked flight) every 90 days.

My apologies. Someone wrote in a thread a few months ago that you could only redeem a reward every year. I trusted that. But I just did som research on the e-rewards site, and found this in the Membership Agreement:

Program Sponsor / Program Partner Reward Redemption Limitation
American Airlines One reward redemption in any 90 day period
Blockbuster One reward redemption per calendar year
eBags No limitation on redemptions
Hertz One reward redemption per calendar year
Hilton HHonors One reward redemption in any 90 day period
IBM No limitation on redemptions
Omaha Steaks One reward redemption per calendar year
Vail Resorts One reward redemption per calendar year

Sorry for the misinformation

As discussed above, the AA ereward can only be redeemed once every 90 days. Moreover, each award is only valid for 3 months starting with the month after you redeem.

As I read it, you could try to earn 5000 miles on a RT ticket... Redeem today, redeem in 90 days, fly out before the end of December, fly back early January (redeeming in mid-December would produce a bonus valid after Jan 01.) And if the second bonus doesn't post you would still have a couple months to take the second flight.

I don't know if anyone has tried this yet, so keep us posted
