Is there a forum to share ideas about IDINE?
There seems to be many possible ways to earn ff for several airlines.

FT Dining (?).

We usually discuss iDine here, since it is an alternative way to earn points/miles.

Really? I usually see Idine discussions in any number of forums (including Miles Buzz and the various airline forums), but not S.P.A.M.

Here's a question for iDine users... I have iDine on a Delta Gold American Express card, and iDine on a BankOne card from work (that goes to me). Can that program be doubled up with UPromise? The tuition reduction program you can add to cards? That seems to be really double dipping if you can... Anyone know?

But there has been plenty of discussions of it here also.

It is a different concept, since it does affect many airlines and programs.

No you can't. You can only have one card per program.

Can't double dip

No, and the very simple reason is that Upromise's dining program is really iDine, just as just about every airline and credit/charge card's dining program is really iDine, no matter what name the airline or credit/charge card gives to the dining program.

There are really only two major dining programs out there that I know of; one is Entertainment (which works by coupons), and the other is iDine. (There used to be also leCard, linked to Diners Club charge card, but I don't think that's around any more.)

The one "double dipping" you can of course use is to use a credit card that earns you miles for any purchase as your iDine credit card. So, for example, if you use an airline credit card where you get 1 mile/$ spent, and you dine at a 10 miles/$ restaurant, you get 11 miles/$ total (but you can have you iDine miles go to a different airline than your credit card earns miles on, if you want).

I've seen other threads where people have reported using coupons (from Entertainment or elsewhere) at restaurants and then still earning with iDine on the same meal. But of course only a tiny fraction of iDine restaurants are also Entertainment restaurants (or otherwise have coupons), plus that only helps if you're an Entertainment member (which is not free AFAIK).

2-recently I received a bonus of 1,000 ff at United for using 7 IDINe members. Any alike promo with any of the other ff programs of any kind?

One promo: US Air: go to 2 restaurants by 9/30/03 and get a 250 ff bonus in addition to the regular miles. This is not terrific. I understand that in 2002 NW had one where you got 10,000 ff bonus for 5 or 7 restaurants.

But Upromise does miles at grocery stores and online purchases... not just dining....
Still only eligible for one or the other?
If Upromise works for both dinners and some other purchases, don't they have a large leg up to begin with?

I would have no problem with SPAM being the usual site for iDine, except that there are sometimes promos that vary by carrier, which would make sense in the forum for those carriers.

While not exactly Idine, and quasi-targeted, Delta is running a promo this summer where they will match 1000 Skymiles for each three "partner postings" (up to 3000 miles). Idine meals are valid for this offer.

I also feel that SPAM is the right place for iDine, with the exception of an airline specific promotion, which could be in that airlines forum.

An IDINE forum would see no activity.
