What to do with MySony Points?

Get a Camera?

This is surely no really huge deal, IMHO, but what do you do with these points - if you have 'em?

My Sony is offering some discounts on their digital cameras if you have accumulated enough points.

Honestly, MySony points was one of the dumber programs I ever joined. I had a balance of a few thousand, but the points expire after 6 months or so, so I am now down to 500...

Did anyone ever get anything out of this program?

Naw, and the "prizes" aren't really prizes either. You can typically find the same items for less without having to go through Sony. All it became was a marketing campaign to get a lot of e-mails and addresses of people to pester.

I joined from a MyPoints BonusMail back in May and now have 30,000 points. Every now and then I'll get an e-mail for $5/10 off a purchase, but their prices aren't that great.

Oh well, just another program who has one of my e-mail addresses.

This program is a fraud, I have 4,000+ points, and have no idea what to do with them.

It looks like they are a way for them to encourage you to spend money with them.

I have not seen one free thing in there, other than frustration

If you have 30,000 MyPoints you can certainly get better prizes than $5/$10 purchase...
Did I misunderstand the message?

If anyone has purchased anything with Sony using their points, their marketing seems to have worked. On the other hand, I can get Sony stuff cheaper at ABT Electronics directly when I go to their store. They are even advertised on Sony's website so go figure. Their points are not worth much IMO.

I have never been able to use them, every time I try to log in , I get an error message. Customer Service says it is a problem with my IE settings. 15K points nad no way to use! They do seem to have a better price on DVDs and CDs, but not much else.

I wondered the same thing last week and came to the conclusion to not even bother opening the emails anymore. I got an email this morning from them and deleted it. Next time, I'm going to unsubscribe. Worthless, however, I did get like 50 MyPoints.

I think we have mixed two different programs in this thread

Sony Points

MyPoints

Sony points seem like a complete waste of time.

But if you find something that is worth while, please do share the information.
