MyPoints Posting Error?
Anyone else get one of these:
"Alert: Error Found in Your MyPoints Account
Dear Edward,
Due to a technical error, your account was mistakenly credited with 1,000 Points. We apologize for the confusion, and will be retracting this credit as soon as possible. Obviously, these "mistaken" Points are ineligible to redeem for rewards.
We sincerely regret any confusion this may have caused, and would like to credit you with 10 Points for the inconvenience. Please click here to receive your 10 Points.
Thank you for your continued participation in MyPoints.
Sincerely,
Stefan DeCota
SVP, Marketing"
Why don't they just fix the account?

Yes, I also got the points and the email. I cashed them yesterday but I suppose they will just dishonour the reward I ordered.

Turth is I couldn't figure out where the points had come from, so I guess I can't complain too much.

Same here. The site had been down so much I was surprised they sent out this e-mail so fast.
I already requested another Sharper Image cert, but I'm sure they'll cxl it- even though I'm only 30 points away from having the points (after they subtract the "mistaken" 1,000 points.
BTW- this site is too much hassle now. You wait, and wait, and wait for points to post- you e-mail, then wait for them to reply- then they say "We're sorry- we'll post them w/in 5 days" then you wait some more. Once I get my 30 points and cash in, I'm gone for good.

Maybe the site will go down for "scheduled" maintenance and we'll get some more "mistaken" points.

I noticed the extra 1000 points in my account yesterday. They are from Doubleday & the description is "tracking points." I haven't yet received the email and the points are still in my account.
My husband's account doesn't have them, but I suspect it's because he didn't check his email & click on mypoints emails until last night.

I didn't get the points or the retraction.
Two years ago some United miles showed up in my account and then disappeared without explanation. A message, such as the one that mypoints sent out here, would have been appropriate and appreciated.
