E reward & Ebags

I decided to redeem for a discount at ebags. On the coupon they give a link to shop through and also the code that you have to use to get the discount.

Do I have to use their link? I was thinking about seeing if they are affiliated with someone else in which I could get points/miles for the purchase also.

I don't know whether you have to use their link, but you can get miles for eBags purchases through Continental, Northwest, and United.

Beware of discounts for eBags - they don't apply to the high-end products like Briggs & Riley. Note the fine print "Does not apply to all brands."

It depends on the link, some have the dicsount coded with the entry point, others you can use as a coupon code when checking out. if it's the first type, yes you do, if it's the second type, no you can use any link.

Mary2e, you can also try ebates.com (6%) or Stockback.com (9%) in addition to the usual airline mileage shopping portals.

Has anyone been successful going through a shopping portal like mypoints to use the e-rewards certificate and getting points or miles too?

Exclamation Some Clarification Please!!

Some Clarification Please!!

I, too, am considering cashing in some of my E-Rewards for an E-Bags purchase. However, it appears from the above, there are two forms the "erewards" takes:

1). A Website link thus eliminating any FF miles one may earn thru shopping thru any airline portal; or

2). A Coupon Code that is to be used in the coupon promotion box when one is checking out.

The reson why I ask whether or not this is correct is because I was hoping that I would receive a "Real Gift Certificate" that I might place in the Gift Certificate box, and then ALSO apply a discount code of any sort in the promotion box.

Is this hope of mine not the way they do this and that the EREWARDS takes the form of either an online link or a Discount Code?

Thanks!

You can also shop for ebags through www.goldpoints.com, and earn 55 Gold Points per dollar spent.

Gold Points can be redeemed at an 8:1 ratio with any of 14 airlines, via the Radisson Gold Rewards program. (Thus, you are effectively earning 6.88 miles/dollar when shopping on ebags via www.goldpoints.com.)

Thanks very much!

You may not be aware but you can earn 10 CO miles per $ thru their portal. In addition, until 12/31 and if you use a MC, you can also earn 10 AA miles, as well thru their shopping portal!

Enjoy!

I assume you mean 10 CO miles/dollar thru the CO portal, or 10 AA miles/dollar thru the AA portal?

(UA also has a holiday bonus offer on their shopping portal, but sadly, it only seems to apply to a few merchants, NOT ebags.)

Correct. But, the CO 10 miles/$ is always available to OnePass members. However, if you complete 3 separate and different partner transactions by 12/31, you will earn a small bonus on top of the miles for the items purchased themselves, of 1,000 CO miles, so long as you use any MC for your purchases.

If one is really interested in gaining this bonus and intends to use a partner that also participates in giftcertificates.com, the way you can minimize your spending as well as reap some extra miles, is to purchase a $25 gift cert for the partner from giftcerts.com. One can do so with many partners wherein there will be no service or transmittal charge if you obtain the gift cert by e-mail.

As it happens, e-bags is one such partner, so for 1 transaction I bought a gift cert for $25 with my MC thru them and then went back thru the CO shopping portal for ebags and then purchased $26.99 in goods. I applied the gift cert and made up the difference with my MC and thereby satisfied 2/3 partner purchases.

--------------------------

With respect to AA, ebags is both an everyday shopping partner and a special "threshold" partner.

Everyday partner purchases made with a MC earn double their normal points thru 12/31 -- thereby yielding the 10 AA miles per $.

Ebags is also a threshold partner, whereby if all your AA.com threshold partner purchases add up to $250, you get 2,500 FF miles as an additional bonus. $500 in theshold purchases yield a 5,000 bonus, and likewise, $1,000 yields 10,000 FF miles.

However, unlike CO, gift cert purchases via giftcerts.com, also an AA partner, I do not believe earn any bonus whatsoever, and it is not a threshold partner, as well. So do not think of buying gift certs via the AA shopping portal thinking that you will get any sort of bonus, because I think you will be quite disappointed.

Finally, I am aware of the United bonuses for those 5 select partners. Better than the CO promotion, but it pales in relation to last year's United promo where 2 separate online purchases of any amount from any partner would yield 7,500 bonus miles!! Now, that was some bonus!!

I assume that the free shipping offers that Ebags often has, as well as the links that give 10-20% off are not good in combination with the E-rewards coupon?
