I currently have $170.35 in my e-rewards account, having redeemed some points earlier in the year. Great news about AA joining the redemption line up.

You have until March 30th to spend the amount earned in the previous year.. so you have a little extra earning time.
This above sentence contains contradictory statements. You can either earn more points between January 1 and March 30 for the March 30 redemption deadline, or you can't.

So I examined the e-rewards program information. You can earn points till December 31, 2002, and you have till March 31, 2003 to redeem those points. However, any points you earn in 2003 will be redeemable starting on January 1, 2004. You cannot redeem 2003 points this year.

Bummer.

How are you guys getting so much $$$$$?
I get maybe 4 or 5 e-mails each week. I'm afraid I won't have enough to cash out by March

I don't see any such statement anywhere on the site.

In fact, the contrary:

www.e-rewards.com/customerservice/FAQ3.asp#6

Quote from this webpage:

6. How soon can I start redeeming my e-Rewards?

You may redeem them as soon as your account accumulates a minimum of $ 25 in e-Rewards.

The site now reads:

Your free American Airlines ticket or first-class upgrade is closer than ever! Starting January 9, 2003, you can redeem your e-Rewards for the opportunity to earn up 2,500 AAdvantage Bonus Miles! And when you're ready, book your flight on AA.com.
Closer than ever indeed !
