E-rewards sign-up?

E-rewards sign-up?
I'm big on the points programs, but I never got into E-rewards. The sign up page asks you to "request an invitation" from a particular business. Is one better than the other, or does it not really matter?

I don't know about others, but from the Hertz web site, it says to sign up at www.e-rewards.com/hertzweb
