Question about converting MyPoints -> HH Points

Question about converting MyPoints -> HH Points
When redeeming MyPoints to Hilton HHonors points, how long does it take for the points to post, generally? Is it instant, like with VehiclesOnline, or does it take a while? Or (hopefully not) do I receive a certificate in the mail?
Also, if I try to convert points from MyPoints to a relative's HH account (same last name, different first name), is it known to work? I hope that this would not be bending the rules too much.

The MyPoints deposit each Friday. It is automatic and will appear on your HH activity as Intellipost Transfer.
The tranfer will only work for you, not to someone else's acount.

To make the transfer work for a different name, go to the profile section on Mypoints for your account and change the name, then do the transfer to the hilton account, then later go back and change the name back to yours. It has worked without problem!
