giftcertificates.com

Just received 2 Blockbuster Value Cards from giftcerticates.com. Their service was great but the cards expire 12/31/02. Six months?

I found this on their website:

Expiration dates: Original gift certificates from our merchant participants provide terms specific to the individual companies. Where expiration dates apply, gift certificates will generally be valid for six months to two years from date of purchase. SuperCertificates are valid for 13 months from date of purchase.

Caveat emptor.

Your are welcome to visit us in CA; you can bring all you expired gift certs along as under California law gift certs never expire

By the way, there is promotion going on for 2 more days - $5 off $50 when paying with MasterCard:
http://www.giftcertificates.com/prom...astercard.cfm?

Strange, discount never appears during the checkout, but the history shows the correct $45 price

That's great news. I'm always cleaning out a drawer and finding an expired gift certificate. Now I can send them all to my mother in California.

I visited the Marriott gift certificate site today ( http://gifts.marriott.com/ ) and there is a special notice regarding California. No expiration dates apply. This could be a new opportunity for FT's coupon community.

For those who are interested in earning cash rebates for purchases made through giftcertificates.com instead of earning NW miles, then try giantrewards.com, ebates.com or spree.com. I think you earn a 5% rebate. In my book, that's pretty good.

You can get Mypoints points with giftcertificates.com. Also, I've posted methods in the past about how to avoid shipping -- do a search.
