I just received an email from MyPoints, and scrolled down as normal. When I clicked on the link, I got this. (bear in mind I received the email at 4:59pm est and responded at 5:01 pm est same day.)
"This award has expired. No Points can be awarded at this time. (Most Point awards are available for a limited time.)
YEAH, two minutes time!!
For hundreds of other Point-earning opportunities, please visit the Earn Points page."

I get these sometimes and I always write to the right away to ask for the points. They generally come through, but sometimes they send a form letter which doesn't address my question. I just have to write them again in that case. So do write to them.
I sometimes get this - but I don't worry about it. Since 5 mypoints is worth about 3 or 4 cents, it might be worth clicking on it, but to me it isn't worth any more time than that.
