How long does it take to convert from GoldPoints to AAdvantage?
I thought I read in previous threads it was a pretty fast process. However I have been waiting for more than 3 weeks now and am wondering if something is amiss.
I have called and was told the standard "6 to 8 weeks" answer. But I thought others here said it happened pretty fast.
How long did your conversion take?

Within a week, except for one transfer that has gone missing.

Goldpoints are swept from your account on Sunday, posts wth AA on Thursdays.
I have done about 8 redemptions and they all posted accordingly including one just this week.

If it's the very first transfer or a large amount, I'd give it some time. However, I do know that if you call Goldpoints they can tell you what the "confirmation number" was for a given redemption. With that in hand, I would then either E-mail or fax Goldpoints, as I really doubt these things are getting lost on the airlines' end, and I don't think the phone reps are in a position to investigate.
By the way, has anyone gotten a sense of how large the GP customer service operation is? When calling at certain times, I seem to invariably wind up with the same (friendly) person.

You may want to call Goldpoints and ask if they can "manually" transfer your points. I too, was waiting a long time and then called. I was told the computer wasn't set up to transfer large amounts of points as some of us had been doing. But after being told it would be done manually, it was rather quick.
