IGOUGO redemption
Just wanted to tell everyone that I have been very impressed with IGOUGO for merchandise redemptions. I redeemed 22,000 points for the binoculars last week and was told I'd probably receive them in four weeks. They arrived in under a week absolutely free including shipping from Amazon.com, and they are exactly as described on the site!
I hope IGOUGO continues to thrive!

I also love IGOUGO, but my redemption activity (most recently for an Amazon.com gift certificate on 11/1/01) hasn't been as prompt. It usually takes the full 3-4 weeks they reference on their website. Maybe with all the new changes, they are speeding things up.

Looking at the redemption rates, going for merchandise actually looks like a better rate than miles. Opposite of most of these programs... Of course, valuing an FF mile is subjective and depends greatly on your real need for it and how fast you'd use it. But I like some of the luggage selections you could get for about the same number of points as the 5K AA redemption...

I know merch redemptions with any frequent-travel program take a while. I just flushed my Budget account for some Callaway sticks, and they have yet to show up (ordered six weeks ago).

First, let me say I now commiserate with all of you who haven't received your redeemed merchandise. I turned in my second group of 25,000 pts for 5,000 AA miles quite a while ago, and I am still waiting, even after a reply back from Megan that it was being taken care of.
Second, let me say that one of my journals has been nominated for an IGOUGO best journal award! And, the same with some other FTers! I don't know if their IGOUGO handles are the same as for here, samepenny, nmagann and Linda Kaye. Anyway, here's my FT post for us:

Lisamcgu,
That's great that you were nominated for an award! It took me 2 months to get my AA miles when I redeemed 25,000 points in October, but they came. Just try to redeem much earlier than you intend to use them. I haven't posted any journals in a while, so I need to get back into it.
