Well, I think I'm out of journals now.

But I am going on holiday in less than three weeks (tour around half of Canada, then Seattle then another Anime Expo but this time in Long Beach) ... so maybe in about two months I'll have a new journal in the works! ^_^

I can only see total ratings. Is there a way to see the breakdown or do you just notice that the average has gone down? (If there are enough ratings I low rating wouldn't bring the average down)

To be frank, I have been lurking for some time on the IGoUGo boards and doing an analysis of the hideous down-grading rankings. I have been severely pissed (pardon the language) since the last incident a few weeks back when all our journals were thrown backwards with *** or less. You must realise that the slime-ball must have awarded less than *** since it was sufficient to affect the average.

The last straw came when dglawless commented that some person went by hers and gave her * even before she had finished up the journal.

I am working out some stuff, and if this goes on, will forward the findings to the IGoUGo staff. In the meantime, you have to count on this board as well as your friends to bring up the average. I have been pestering my colleagues and everybody on my address list to sign-up and support my journals. A few of them have done just that but I am still working hard at roping in support.

I am on my way to check out any of your new journals.

PS. even if that slime-ball awards *, relish the fact that you still earn 10 points - which, in the essense, is what's important! We all know that we have put in our effort and one loser's comments should not change that!

I've written a letter asking the Igougo people to check it out, because I can't believe that *everything* went suddenly to *** as well as the overall rating. That just doesn't sit right at all.

I hope they find the person and stop them from doing this to everyone. They're so immature and childish it's not funny. (Actually, I know a lot of children who are more mature than this git.)

But, that's true. At least we get points from this yatsu. ^_^

(Hmm... and I must agree that it's someone reading THIS board. Because my Arcarnacon 2001 message is the only one of my journals on this post.)

We had a little discussion and (skipping all the details) kunoichi came up with the idea of creating an e-Group to protect the interests of all FT journalists.

Hence, the birth of "Frequent Flying Journalists" a.k.a. "fters" - a restricted but unmoderated group.

To subscribe, please send an email to [email protected]

It is hoped that new entries written by you guys will be announced through this e-Group so that unwelcomed lurking visitors will not gate-crash with single stars and the like.

I know that it is untimely to create this group since discussion and debates on "The List" and "US baht run - to post or not to post" still show no signs of breaking up. But time and tide waits for no journalist.

hi folks, this theory of a ft lurker is very interesting. this did not happen to me until i started on this bulletin board. since then i have gotten one star put on each of my entries of my last 4 or 5 journals. they must sit on the igougo site because more than once i have gotten the one star rating before i have even finished the journal. i really don't care about the rating except that it feels so nasty. i do like the points whoever is giving me! dglawless

Sounds like a good idea, maple and kunoichi, but how does it protect our interests? I guess I'm a bit naive on this one...

Because then one of us will have the list of names/e-mail addresses. If it continues happening there, then we can easily narrow it down by seeing who's on the e-mailing list.
